Have you ever attended a convention?
I live in the west so whenever spring time comes by, I attend Sakuracon with my brother if I have the time. Other than that, I don't go out of my way to visit other conventions.

I don't like crowds and noisy places, so I mostly see conventions as an expensive way to put myself in an unpleasant environment designed primarily to advertise things to me, even if they otherwise seem like they are the sort of event that would be aimed at me.

I've been to the NYC Comic Con a couple times. I would go to more conventions and movie festivals if they were closer.

There really are tons of people. I don't really like crowds, but I had some cool experiences. A family member is a librarian and gets to go for work every year, so I tagged along a couple times.

Went to comicdom convention sometimes. Watched an awesome greek movie there once (called The Dragonphoenix Chronicles: Indomitable). Other than that, I usually go to conventions related to food technology.

I've been to exactly one con in my life, and it's a con "lite," from what I can tell, called Sci-Con.
Enjoyed it, though. Went with a friend, who was speaking on a panel.

I have attended several in the past, but not for few years now.

A veteran of several conventions near my general area. Got a collection of signed DVDs that I wouldn't trade for the world.

Only twice in my life. I went to the Comic Con once, and another time I went to some kind of anime convention with one of my friends (I fell really weird there, everyone was so cheerful and almost obsessed with anime and that kind of things... Not my style).

I sorta kinda went to a Linux Expo once.
We had two hours of IT as the last thing that day so our teacher decided to take us to Linux Expo. Or, well, he delegated the task of getting us in there to the school's IT guy. The guy, grumpy from being taken from his nerd nest, took us in front of an expo building and left. We went inside and no Linux anywhere. We asked the people there and there never was a Linux expo in there. The dumbass took us to a completely wrong place. We went home.
And that is how I almost went to a Linux expo.
Otherwise, I avoid large masses of people so I don't think I'll go to a convention like, ever.

Yes, although there's sooo many people, I want to attend the concert after convention, so I go every year ^^

Simple question, curious if there are any other con goers out there.
I just finished a con last weekend, Liberty City Anime Con. I believe I have three more cons for this year as well; Ruffle Con, DerpyCon and NYCC. There was a point that I would never consider going to a con but now I'm addicted. lol I mainly staff them, though and stick to the East Coast.
