if you happen to be using a text editor like Notepad++ to solve this, I would be careful about it trying to be smart and inserting extra spaces to keep the same indentation level as the previous line, which can mess up the interpretation of the puzzle solution.

if you don't want to download notepad++, then I would also suggest displaying everything in a monospaced font so all of the characters are the same width and things can line up

Is this related to cryptography? And if so, is it a traditional (can be done with pen and paper) encoding, or one that needs computer use?
