Would you kindly...

Seems like Brave New World would have only been added with the USD$15 purchase
Or is there a different bundle?

guess i'll just wait for that, maybe when Civ 6 comes out?

Civ 1 is just too bare-bones to really be worth playing these days (plus Civ 2 does everything Civ 1 does, but better), Civ 3... well, that's a game I don't even like. The only Civ game I don't like actually. Civ IV, well, I like the buildup phase in that game, but I find the end game to be really dull. This is not an uncommon issue in 4X games, the end game far too often end up feeling unsatisfying. That basically leaves Civ 2 (which has the advantage of being the fastest one to play, which helps cut down on the tedium of the end-game) and Civ V (which has more tactical combat, even if it feels a bit strange how they implemented it if you start considering scale).

Agreed on Civ I; Civ 2 is basically the same but more (and isometric!). Civ III I never played, so I can't comment.
Civ IV is basically Civ 2 but more of everything (and back to square tiles!)
Civ V is ostensibly the same, but has some fundamental changes (and hex tiles!).
V is a much slower game, IMO; they nerfed the wild buildup of the earlier games, and changed the combat system. I understand that it probably makes for a deeper game, but I find it less fun, because I loved the chaotic scramble for land and the frantic build-up of all the cities and armies.
again, V is deeper. Civ I-IV are very easy to beat if you keep pumping out settlers until you've amassed more cities than everyone else; you might fall behind early in the game, but once you've got a gazillion cities pumping out research and production, you'll catch up and pass everyone with gusto
basically, Civ V is deeper strategy, Civ IV is more like a city builder

Yeah, but one important difference is that IV is a lot slower, due to all animations and such going on. It looks nicer for sure (except for the wonders videos, the Civ 2 ones were great), but I find that IV lands in a very awkward space for me, it's not deep enough for me to play it when I'm looking for a deep strategy game, yet it's too slow, in particular in the end game where you have a lot of units moving all over the place, for me to be a good game to play when I just want to spend an evening unwinding. Civ V also suffers from this slowness at points, but at least combat is more interesting. Pre-expansions, Civ V landed in a very similar awkward space as IV.

eh. I lump it with the many games I never finish (see e.g. Total War, Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis)
I actually find Civ V a lot slower, at least early on. To the point where I just don't feel like getting toward the end game. Civ IV is IMO a lot more fun early on. Yes, it gets tedious later on, but at that stage I just abandon the game. Even in the original Civ I, I rarely finished the game. (though, I did it a lot more than I do these days)
But if Civ I or Civ II were available on steam, I'd probably clock more hours on those than the later games. Civ II is as close to perfect as they ever got because they got the pacing right. The later games are deeper and have more win options, but the pacing isn't as good

Civ 5 is a great game - complete pack is the best way to go. 'Nuff said.

I personally got the complete pack for € 10. But for $12, it's still very much worth it. It's an amazing game (even more so if you have friends to play with, but sinleplayer is great as well) that will last you for a while.
EDIT: never mind, I just realized I got it for € 15 instead of € 10. My point still stands though.

And steam:

Which would mean dlgamer is cheaper?
History should be:

So it seems they changed the package name...
And some useless, too crowded version:

Depends on who you buy from. The current offer for best price has a reputation of 97% so I'd say it's legit. You can also pay a little extra for the g2a shield to be included in the purchase, in which case if you get scammed, you'll get your money back. Personally, I've never used the shield and never gotten an invalid key from g2a.
Edit: There's always a coupon code you can apply to get it even cheaper.

With all the negative news on g2a I don't like the company itself...

I'll just add that I got a G2A gift card and bought 4 games from 99% reputation sellers and with G2A shield deactivated. I got my 4 games :) (AoE 3, Wasteland 2 DC, TW: Napoleon Collection and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate).
I guess that the risk is very low if you buy from the sellers with the highest reputation.

Hi I really thought of getting it, especially after seeing overwhelming positive responses and the fact it comes with all those expansions. However, I tried the demo on steam and although I liked some features it really wasn't my cup of tea. I did not consider it ''fun'' for me compared to some other games. So try the demo and see.

Hm, not sure about your region price, but for me this one: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/36076/ - is cheaper for $0.8. =)
Of course if you're able to see it

it'd say it's worth if you have the time to play it & the funds to buy it

I think you missed the Humble 2K sale in june... For under $25 you could get Civ V complete, Beyond Earth, Borderlands 2 GOTY, Borderlands Pre-Sequel and a fifth game (in my case stronghold collection). Which works out to $5.40 each for the first 4 (uncluding humble monthly discount)... Not sure how much the discount was if you'd buy 3 games... But then again... it will always be cheaper somewhere, someday... ;)

This is usually on sale for 9.99, I've seen it even cheaper (e.g. in the sale Manipulator mentioned, but also by itself on playfield), and with a new one coming out soon the price can only go down ... I'd say if you want to play it right away, buy it, if you can wait another month or more, don't buy it yet.
edit: unless they've changed it now, and you can't get it as Civ V Complete anymore? Seems it's only available as that ungiftable pack that deducts what you already own, at least on Steam :/

That's the only thing I bought for me in this sale.
8€ and a few cents for all the dlc (I already had the base game)
It's really good so far, I'm playing as Oda Nobunaga (Japan) in Africa and my people pray R'hllor, the Lord of Light. The world will be mine, money well spent.

I paid full price have over 1000+ hours in it. You will not regret getting this if you like this type of game.

This is actually a pretty good deal for me, since I'm missing BNW and a handful of other minor DLC. €3.79, BNW never went anywhere near.
For you, at $12? you should be able to find a Complete key elsewhere for less, without having to resort to the grey market.

I'm really amazed at the "Bundle" deals some previously extremely cash-greedy companies have been putting out. I mean even Tripwire now let me buy their ridiculously overpriced crap DLCs for almost affordable prices now, instead of only discounting things for new buyers.

price is little higher now, because is bundle. people can buy missing dlc for lower price. For people which already have base game and some dlc is better. For people who don't isn't, but price is still good. in this game you easily can have 1000+ hours
i pay for full 10€.
buy it

For me, it's $12.63 for the complete pack, including both expansion packs. What say you about it? Buy, or don't buy?
"Fun" poll for "fun" people, mostly cos I'm too stingy to give an obligatory gift away.
Don't bother searching, it's a waste of time.
You've been warned
