Spartacus. 1st season is great, 2nd and 3rd suck, though.

If you have not seen them, Rome and Spartacus(sex and violence in every episode).
Deadwood was really good.(western series)
Skins(UK)great drama.(Sex and drugs)
doctor who is great of course, start with series one(2005) and watch some of the older series if you can handle vintage scifi
...and of course, game of thrones, walking dead, and boardwalk empire are the best shows on television. so if you have not seen them, get on it.

Watch NCIS, it's a really good detective CSI-esque series with very serious and sometimes frigthening elements tied in to some overarching stories as well as some really cool moments. Such as one about an abandoned ship that was exposed to a virus that the crew then believe will kill them. Or my personal favourite episode titled "One Shot, One Kill" about a Sniper shooting various Military Recruiters because he was not recruited to be in the snipers like he wanted because he had psychological issues.
Probably my favourite TV series that is about crime ever.
It does help that it does have some very loveable characters.

If you like Dr Who, Sherlock is similar (cheesy BBC drama,) though I prefer Sherlock.
Dexter is good if you don't watch the last 10 minutes.
The Mentalist
The Following
and The Blacklist

watch full modern series doctor who starting on series 1 from 2005. I am doing this right now and I am on the fith season starting mat smith. It's really good, there aren't a lot of references to the classic Doctro who, and if they have, they explain it to you right a way.

Leverage is pretty great! It's complete (5 season) and available on Netflix. It has it's funny moments but it's a mostly serious show about an unlikely group of thieves.

Hi guys, I finished watching all that's available of Person of Interest, and as a student on exams my life is empty now. Could you recommend me a good tv series to watch? I'd prefer one that's already finished or that has some finished seasons, and
I'm not looking for a comedy show right now.
I've already watched Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Fringe. I've been wanting to start Dr. Who, but I don't even know how should I start watching it. Also it would be nice if you could talk a little about what you're recommending.
Thank you guys!
Edit: Thanks to all of you, I've started watching Dr.Who, but I'll probably start some of the ones you recommended me to have some variety. I'll leave the thread open in case someone else is looking for something to watch!
