It might help if you first described the problem first. Saying that you need help from someone in the telecom sector is very vague. My father worked in the telecom sector technically speaking, But he was in Management and HR. He knows a lot about Company Organization and management in the telecom industry but jack squat about the actual engineering side and technology (Its quite amusing to watch him blunder through all the technical jargon). So try to extrapolate your question a bit , okay? Good luck.

Ahhh ... well I don't think my dad ever kept any daily log. But then again, he wasn't in the engineering side. Maybe the engineering side keep logs, but would they allow someone else to see it? I mean wouldn't it come under company confidentiality/non-disclosure rules ? I don't know. Anyway, good luck. I'm sure You'll find someone in the vast sea of internet to help you. :D

Depends on the job and how detailed the log is. For fiber optic networks and backbones it becomes a lot more important from a security perspective to not allow outsiders to know locations and intimate details of a network. With the right amount of detail, a hacker can attack the entire network from the inside or launch man in the middle attacks. At least that holds true for casinos and military bases worth their salt.
