Like anything it ain't perfect, but its better than bitdefender, which is the OP question.

Its probably the best free antivirus those days ( kaspersky if you want to pay ).

This being said i use my windows mainly for offline gaming and keep to linux otherwise so i probably don't give as much attention as some other people here to this subject.

Keep Avast!, it's more reliable that BitDefender anyway. I tried BitDefender and uninstalled the thing within a few months. It's the worst A/V I've ever tried. (And I was using McAfee before that, so it should tell you how low my expectations were.)

Obviously stealing the lunch is a different story...

This aside, i disagree with the no free lunch part for life in general. Be it from linux to some humans with an open heart.

I dont get it, it should be >2014 >Not using antivirus

If you aren't using an antivirus, well someday it'll bite you in the ass. Especially now when all kinds of intricate sneaky viruses are rampant on the internet.

You should change your Avast. Whether it's to BitDefender, MSE, Comodo, Clam, ESET - that's all up to you. Just plan for what you're going to do after the 9 months, which is getting a free AV to replace it.

Hey thanks for sharing this. I'll use this for a while then.
I don't know why people say keep avast. Bitdefender got some good reviews.
