I have a question. What's so bad about the new Simcity? Just outta curiosity.

Always online DRM, 2x2km city size, and Day 1 DLC seem to be the main complaints. Though I haven't played it myself.

How did you miss the silly server connection times?

I think the other thing is that subways are missing from the game. Probably going to be added as DLC. I haven't played the game but this is what I've heard so I might be wrong.

WE NEED OUR SANDWICHES DAMMIT. But seriously, with small maps subways aren't exactly, well, necessary.

The only Day 1 DLC is the extra content you get from the Deluxe Edition. Not really the same thing, only fair for Standard/Limited Edition users to be able to get the content.

The city size will eventually get bigger, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still 2x2km and it's pretty small.

The online DRM I hate. Well, only because they've messed it all up. If it would be working I wouldn't mind.

You forgot the 1 hour queues, which wont even guarantee that it let you in. (usually ends in connection refused error and you have to wait again)

Overloaded servers and small city size. Other than that the game is supposedly pretty good.

Except the removed the "cheetah" speed to reduce server load. I'm sure they'll put it back eventually.

What Bob said practically, the way to limit us by small cities, in order to force having friends playing in nearby cities is pretty much a very dumb idea, things like that should be always optional.

Well lets see....

Forced online connection for single player game (One of the stupidest DRMs ever created for single player games). (loose your connection even for a half a second and you loose your game, also means no playing while going to work or traveling or anything like that). Or as we have seen the servers can't be accessed you can't play. If the servers are shut down, you can no longer play the game you paid for. People are still playing Simcity 4 from 10 years ago.

But hey, if you like other people telling you when, where and for how long you can play the game you bought then go and spend the 60 bucks.

Thats the biggest issue, there are others though.

But, how come I see streamers don't have a problem at all?

If you want the game, you go for gold, pilgrim.

The internet is awash with angry customers. Amazon have pulled the plug on the game in some regions because they're sick of dealing with complaints and issuing refunds NZ/AUS gamers have found many of the game's features turned off in order to stop the servers from flatlining completely. The game is utterly server dependent and EA's policy with keeping servers running for last year's games is well documented.

Still, the choice is yours. People's mileage is bound to vary and there are, no doubt, those who are happy with their purchase. Heed the horror stories, or take the optimistic approach, expect success and hours of joyous gaming and buy anyway. It's your money.

It's EA.

The servers will be shut down by Christmas, and the shelves will be lined with sparkly new copies of SimCity 14.

i will never support this kind of tactics on games. it doesnt matter if its good i wont buy it, its like asking them to make all the games with that DRM.
