There is actually a text-based game I played recently called "Don't Make Love" where you have to play as a female or male mantis in a relationship who is having "the talk" with your opposite sex partner to decide whether or not to have sex.
The game could have used AI to make the conversation more flowing but it's an interesting concept.
However, after doing some research when I played the game, it turns out that the male falls prey to the female only in about 6-10% of cases (when food is scarce and her preservation instinct are now focused on the little ones) so that's a largely inflated phenomenon, for obvious reasons.

However, males of some species of both mantis and spiders have developed independly a trick to survive. They offer a prey to the female, and while the female is busy eating it, they mate with subtle efficiency.
Nature has so many tricks for something so important as mating, some are incredibly ingenious and surprising. I think my fav is the cuttlefish "do I look as a female?" trick.
Oh and there's a game in Steam about two mantis talking about mating knowing that one of them will end dead. Seems to be good. But I can't remember the name.

There's no joke, at least none I can interpret. The "subtle efficiency" is about the two requirements for the male mating successfully. Subtle, so the females don't think something weird is happening around her back and counter attack, and efficient because many males don't have many opportunities for mating, specially in spiders where sexual dimorphism is exaggerated, the females can actually think that the offered prey and the offerer are the same and start eating at the wrong side, or seal both prey and male together in spider silk.
Probably you can make many marriage jokes about these behaviours. But I'm bad at making jokes, specially since my mrs and me were seeing that in a documentary and she told me "now you see what will happen if you finish again before me".

So I borked so badly my last two giveaways that one winner ended with the wrong game and the other ended with no game at all. Luckily we all three agreed to a midterm where, I think, everyone won more than they expected when they entered the gibs, and I'm happy and relieved that the story has ended, and ended happily. That's positive!

Today I feel junky, but I got gardening done, and gave some garden produce to a friend who was pleased by it, got a short bike ride in when I wasn't expecting to manage it, and still had energy to make a fast but okay tasting dinner. I feel junky again, but the middle of the day was quite nice. And we'll have pleasant weather for a week.

That's a success.
For me yesterday was a little success. I did several things and really I didn't want to do anything at all. But once I get through the initial "bleh, tomorrow" barrier, one thing leads to another and when you end you are kinda amazed of how many things, little or big, you managed to get off your to-do list.
Weather has been too nice this weekend. To the point that a species of tree of which I don't remember the name (and much less in engrish) and has these dark maple-like leaves has had new bright green leaves with branches growing about 1 meter (3 feet). Apparently they can grow that much in 3 days. Too bad they'll all fall next month.
But as JBondguy007 said, some days getting off the bed is one little victory.

Don't take it badly, but it seems that guy is on some kind of drug. I've had that animation opened for a while and he's gone for more than one song without signs of even being tired. High probabilities of drug consumption. Don't tell me yes or no, just tell me what drug it is, I want it too!
(Nah I don't do drugs. Even I've went teetotaler/abstemious this year; never had any alcohol problem, just it's something that I don't want in my life anymore, because alcohol after the first sparks, open behaviour and inhibition killer, is a depressant, and I'm too sensitive to that.)
