Tomorrow (or today, in most parts of the non-American world) is my cake day. I've been a leecher member here for a year now. So in celebration, I've done two things:

  1. Make an honorary giveaway! This giveaway is in memory of my first giveaway on this site. Thus, I'm giving away a COMPLETE package of ToME. Find it here.

  2. I've finished and released my new mix "Stadium 128" early and released it in anticipation of Cake Day. The mix consists of purely Electro House and variants and is set at a specific BPM. You can find it on Mixcloud or House-Mixes.

Hope you guys have a great weekend! Let the celebration(s) begin!

Happy cake day and thanks for the giveaway! Nice mix, by the way. Out of curiosity, what program do you use for mixing?

Audacity. It's a free program. It's more or less a music editing software, which means I don't mix live. Similar to digital audio workstations like FL Studio and Ableton. Audacity is quite limited in what it can do, but you get used to it and know what you can do and how to do it when you've used it for about a year.

There's a world of difference between FL Studio and Audacity.
Audacity's main function is editing/mixing, FL Studio's main function is creating/producing

I remember when FruityLoops (before FL Studio) could only be used to generate loops. Even back in beta, it was awesome

FruityLoops was suggested to me by a game dev book in 2006 :P

At its most basic, FruityLoops was just a simple drum machine. But a very, very good drum machine, which could be programmed to create loops. You then needed different software to mix multiple loops into a track, or to add other instrumentation.

Later on, you could use any virtual instrument, and to have several programmed loops, which you could turn on and off sequentially. Not exactly mixing, but you could make a decent track just by clicking buttons to (a) program each loop, and (b) program which loop plays when.

It was a revelation. That, and Ohm plugins.

I've used Audacity for several occasions in the past, but still can't mix songs as neatly as you do. Gotta say it's pretty amazing to hear a mix like this. Great job, mate.
