I don't want to talk about specific politics on this site, but I will say that I think we will get a civil war in the US before a revolution. There are people that want a revolution to change the country one way and there are people that want a revolution to change the country the complete opposite way. It is not as simple as having a revolution to fix the country because if people do not agree with eachother, there will be just as much arguing and fighting over what is right or wrong and how to run the country after a revolution as there is now.
I think it is much more likely that the country would split into two or possibly three major sections that have their own governments than it would be for everyone to agree to run the country a certain way because I don't think that will ever happen.

That can't really happen either. "Red States" and "Blue States" are not all red and all blue so who would split the country and how? Look at Texas. One guy starts blabbering about wanting a referendum and he got blackballed by everyone in his own party basically. Not to mention any serious media (including conservative media), corporate support and lobbies.
And just judging by the Capitol incident, and unfortunately for Trump, the number of people screaming about blowing up shit on twitter and the number of people getting off their couch to get in the street are very different.
Radicalization, though, is concerning on any level and we can't deny it's hitting dangerous levels, especially through social media "us vs. them" mentality.

If the country were to split, I don't know how it would happen. I'm sure it would take a lot of thought and deliberation with input from experts in different fields (economists, farming, oil or other resource rich locations, ocean ports, military...) to try and figure out how to come to a fair agreement that each side agrees on. I don't know if it would be state by state or if the country would be split into big sections. I was thinking in a few large sections, kind of like the FEMA zone map, but with around 3-6 zones. I really haven't put much thought into it.
This definitely wouldn't make everyone happy because many people would live in a certain zone and want to move to another, but not have the money to move. Maybe they could do some kind of relocation program to try and help people move. There could also be something setup for home swapping where you list your home in your region and try to find a comparable home in another region from someone who wants to move to your region and just swap homes. There are already website that do temporary home swapping for going on vacation.
Also, I know almost nobody fits exactly into the left or right. Just because someone leans right doesn't mean that they don't agree with any policies on the left and vice versa, but I feel that things are gradually getting worse and worse over time and more violent. If we keep trying to run the country under one government when the people have such strong opposite beliefs, people are going to start killing eachother at an exponential pace until there is a civil war and the war will not solve anything because those opposite beliefs will still exist after the war ends.
I don't know if splitting the country into 2 governments would work, but it seems like the system we have now is starting to fail. I think it is failing not only because citizens have such different opinions about how the country should be run, but also because the government it getting more corrupt every year. The big corporations are using money to corrupt people in the government to basically write laws to suit the corporations and it is destroying the country.

Corporate greed rules the world. I'm pretty sure it's everywhere but somehow it feels like it's become the bedrock of US politics. You can't get elected without tons of money (for some reason) and ofc there are big companies always willing to donate, to both parties, in exchange for favors. And then there are lobbies.
Anyone who ever ran for office saying they don't take money from lobbies or corporations can ever be elected to a higher office and that's just the way it goes.
I don't think splitting the country would change that though and it seems to me a lot of people are perfectly happy with the corruption of their government as long as the people in place agree or pretend to agree with their views.

Looking at the current state of the world you gotta admit it's pretty shit. We just sit back and take it as governments tells us what to believe it, not based on what's right, true or just, but just to appease the corporations that own them. One of the most egregious examples has to be what they did to my boy Pluto. Dethroning a true short king so Mcgraw hill can force schools to buy new textbooks with the updated information.
Now as to the speak of revolution, we all know there's only one way for this to be resolved. We Know we can't democratically elect a responsible sane person who fights for the truth, and honestly, there's too many people out there corrupted by their own interests for any changing government to ever work. There's only a few people you know you can trust, and one of them is me, so I propose you fight to instate me as your God Empress.
I don't want the power, but it's the only way to make this world right, so I'll stay with it for y'all, as hollow as it makes me.
Fight for your future, and fight for the truth of the solar system.
