Teams losing points?

So, if you go to the stats page and you watch the points update in real time, sometimes you'll see a team's points decrease. Like, it's crunch time if Purple team wants to win day 2, and we just lost at least 150 points. Why do teams lose points?

When you craft a steam summer badge you have a chance to get a token that lets you steal points from other teams.

There are "steal points" tokens. I believe it's 100 points or 1000 points.
