If the reason for considering XCOM is mainly the price, get Pokemon instead, play it, have fun, and wait till the first sale for XCOM that is lower than the preorder price (which is probably not going to take long).

People will tell you to buy XCOM just to get the preorder-reward thing going on..

What you do is very simple. You do a coin toss.
Heads is XCOM, tails is Pokémon. However, you don't look at what the actual outcome is, because once it's in the air you'll know which one you'd rather have. And then you get that one, obviously.

I got a compromise.... Wait until they make a modification to XCOM to allow you to defend against Pokemon. You kinda get both worlds... cause you know, Pokemon get the conquest stuff... and you get to kill em. Everybody... wins?
