Just wait and see: it'll be a mediocre game in reality but all the Bethesda hype will bump it up 15-20% at all sites, like what they did with Fallout 4. :)
Honestly, most people only hope for a decent SP campaign. If they deliver something that is marginally better than Doom 3 was, it'll be a win.

well, turns out the game is fucking amazing. far from mediocre. it's the best shooter in a long time. and it's a true Doom game.

Yep, I know by now. The SP part kicks massive amounts of ass. Or I should probably say, it rips and tears all kinds of ass. :D
So, in the end, a typical Doom game: awesome SP, forgettable MP. Which suits me just perfectly.
