Hello. I entered a few giveaways on the game "Bioshock" because I really wanted to play it at the time, but I managed to get my hands on it at my friends house and we practicaly finished it on one weekend. Now I checked on steamgifts and realized I won the game, which seemed very unlikely since I've never won anything before. The problem is that I don't want the game anymore and would like to give it to another friend, but I heard that the games I've won at steamgifts must be activated on the same account where I won it, otherwise I would get banned. Is this true?

No, you aren't allowed.

No to your title, yes to the final question of the paragraph.

If you re-gift it, you will be banned. Tell the author of the giveaway, he will re-roll.

He already claimed it so perhaps he can send it back to Dsc (the one who created that giveaway) so Dsc can create another Bioshock giveaway or request new winner. But it's a risk though, since he already knows the key, and we don't know if he may change his mind half-way through and activates it, which is not good for both Dsc and the possible new winner. Hmm..

If you really don't want it, ask for a re-roll. That way the game will go to someone who does want it.

Trading won games is about as cool as the surface of the sun...

He already has got the key, look at his profile...

As long as he can convince Support the key hasn't been activated (and Bioshock isn't in his games list), there shouldn't be a problem with getting a re-roll.

This. And worse, it's not correct in its meaning. It should actually be YLOO "You Live Only Once" but then the morons wouldn't find it as catchy...

Also, of course you can't. WTF is wrong with people?

If you've not done anything with it yet and still have the gift in your inventory, give it back to the giveaway maker, and ask him to request a re-roll so someone who does want it can play it. If you don't activate a win in your account, you risk a ban, and a lot of criticism from members of the community who see you didn't activate 1 of your wins but don't know why.

Whatever you do choose to do, never re-gift anything you win. That's the surest way to get in trouble.

The gift can not be rerolled after it has been marked as received.

What? Where do you get these things?

There's no such thing as "No rerolls if marked as Received". Each reroll request is taken under consideration and it is processed accordingly.

  1. The receiver can unmark it at any time
  2. Any re-roll is looked at individually, and with screenshots of chat explaining the situation, mods can always, ALWAYS do a re-roll

Well, if you plan to keep it, you have 6 days to activate the game on your account. If you don't activate it, you'll be suspended for it.

If you don't want it, tell the gifter to request a reroll, and don't use the key.
