If you like the keyboard and mouse, then that's fine. Stick with whichever works best for you.

Some games are great with a controller, other games not so much. Focus on deciding which are which for you, and only play the games on the sofa that really need a controller.
Oh, and work on your posture and ergonomics at your desk. Plus, try and take a 15 minute walk for each hour spent gaming.

Get a better chair. Mine's more comfortable than any sofa I've ever sat on. And I've set up the height of the chair so that using the M&KB is comfortable and I've put some thick books under the monitor so that I can look straight at it while sitting comfortably.

Sleeping dogs works really well with a controller, you can go through the whole game without the need for your mouse and keyboard. Some games like Dark Souls and GTA4 are nigh unplayable without a controller, but I'm not sure those are good "training" per se. Wait for some better responses. lol

GTA 4 needed a controller? I got by without one the whole time... o.O
Dark souls however deeefinitely does.

I got used to the driving after a while. I liked the change from the old headed where you're looking, to being able to look around before turning. I believe that was GTA 4, right?

Beat Hazard, Jamestown, Super Meat Boy, Mark of the Ninja, try with those.

Dark souls although it may cause you to violently throw your controller to the ground. Other than that, castle crashers, Ys origins and oath in felghana, bastion, any good platformer like braid and such.

I know what you mean; I just take a break from playing FPS/RTS etc and play a platformer/driving game and play that with the controller, makes a lot more sense than getting frustrated playing a game with substandard controls.

I would suggest Borderlands 1 / 2. Both work well with a gamepad. I'll also agree with the Ys games, though be sure to customize the controls since clicking the right stick for the menu is weird.

anything but fps, even dough i played a bit of bl1,best wep to use is shotgun

Nah, Borderlands controls great with a controller. Gearbox puts a lot of work into console versions of games, and the gamepad controls are carried over onto PC. PS2 Half-Life is awesome and my favourite version of the classic.

what didnt u understand from "noob with a controller"? xD

Dark Souls, it 10000000000000000000% needs a controller.
Not to mention, it's a great game in general ^_^

I guess everyone has their own preferences, but I get frustrated using controller for FPS. The mouse just seems to much faster to aim with. I'm not sure if this would disappear over time.
I like using controllers for games like Batman, Super Meat Boy, and Saints Row. Been using it a lot for Hotline Miami and Binding of Isaac in the last few days, not completely comfortable with dual analogue sticks for moving and aiming yet though.

Both those games would be harder with a controller if you ask me, actually I never use a controller in any game that has me aiming.

Some people have already suggested Dark Souls, which I support. But I'll also throw Hoard out there. It's a pretty damn good game, even if it's a bit on the obscure side. It handles so much better with a controller than with a mouse and keyboard, too, which I didn't expect.
People are suggesting Super Meat Boy, which personally, I think is a horrible idea. It's a great game, but if you're going to be learning to use a controller, you might not want to start with one of the most mechanically difficult games ever created.
