Lately I have seen trades and traders with -REP. I check on their -REP and it is not for "scam" instead some bullshit like "time waster" or rude. What the hell and after having a chat with a trader I too have gotten this shit. Why are some people so bloody blind and not read http://www.steamtrades.com/forum/af3y1/misuse-of-feedback-impersonators-alert. It is even pinned for people too read and it quotes "Feedback should NOT be used for :
Random comments, unrelated to a trade.
Comments such as "rude", "lowballer", "regifter" and so on. This is trade and not attitude related feedback.
Fake positive feedback for boosting your reputation count.
Revenge reputation (such as giving negative rep to someone just because they gave you false negative rep)."

P.S - The people who give these fake -REP are new users.

P.S.S - To the victims of this crap share you story here. Perhaps mod will have a look at this and might do something.

There are few mods to deal with mainly this site and all the support tickets, let alone Steamtrades. I'm sure they're trying but it just takes a while.

Since tickets for ST have no priority whatsoever and tend to be unresolved for 3 months or more (like mine currently) that is the only way we can deal with the neg rep ourselfs, this has been "under consideration" according to the ST faq for about half a year now and it seems to have become the new standard on ST, was it wrong in the past when there was no ticket backlog? yes.
Is it wrong to defend your own name when it comes to large cash trades in some cases if support is lacking? imo no, not if you'e tried everything else.
Either that rule should be fully implemented or the backlog should be fixed, either way traders need something to work with.

It "only" took them a month to remove my negative rep, which seems to be rather reasonable for me. Something needs to be done about this but frankly I have no idea how to fix it.

I started a topic on SGv2 a while ago about this very problem, but there hasn't been a lot of ideas/feedback or agreement on feasible solutions. Maybe during the next open beta we'll get more discussion about it there.

Downside of that was that it had a small time window to post, if we'd have that thread over here we could add stuff later when it comes to mind, will the next beta be accessible for a longer duration?

Yes, ST tickets take a while but they get dealt with eventually. Giving revenge reputation doesn't help anyone, especially the user posting it, since it's not much different than what the other user did in some cases.

I will need to close this thread, though, not due to the subject itself but due to the "share your story here" part. It's not much different than calling out so I'd appreciate it if the users who have feedback issues made a ticket to SG support to request the removal of such feedback (since I noticed some who describe their issue here haven't made such tickets). Suggestions are also welcome.

Also, making forum threads for things that belong in support due to the "Perhaps mod will have a look at this and might do something" mindset, is really not advised. There is a queue in support and people should respect that, even if it takes a while. I will apologise for the delay/inconvenience but there is absolutely no reason for people to get reported for calling out just to make mods aware.
