So I have a copy of Dino D-Day, and plan on giving it away. Upon attempting to start said giveaway, Dino D-Day was not in the list of giveable games, however it's DLC and comic book were giveable. Am I missing something? If not, is there any way I can still do the giveaway? Thanks in advance!

You mean the free weekend? Or was the game fully free in the past?

The full game was given away for free in mass amounts by Bundle Stars a few months back. Whenever this happens, SG removes the game from the give away list to prevent flooding of exploited keys. Typically these games are added at some point down the road, but no one knows when.

Well that certainly sucks for me, I guess I'll have to give it to a random person on my steam. Not nearly as satisfying that way. Was mostly looking forward to making a sweet puzzle for the giveaway, but looks like all my dreams were crushed.

Don't you be disapointed so much, you're not alone facing this injustice :)

You can still make a puzzle if you want. You just can't give it away through the site's giveaway system. For example, at the end you could have your trade offer link, if you haven't made that public before (or you could just generate a new one to invalidate the old ones).

irrelevant - the list does not tell whether a game was given away for free (and hence removed from the list). Xiiram and guppy44's answers were sufficient :)

Thanks for the list, still very helpful. I myself hold the opinion that it is bullcrap that I can't give the game away at all, and I'd gladly accept a large subtraction from its CV instead, but on a site made for giving things away for free, we should be able to give it all away. But still, thanks for the list I can refer to.

It will probably be allowed back at some point. When a game is given for free and en masse like that, it gets disabled for a while because we end up with a large wave of people trying to get CV from the free offer.

Not only do they profit for something that's already free to everyone in the first place, but they also brings the site to a crawl due to the overload.

I guess I didn't really think of the fact people would try to give those away and "exploit" the system, silly me. I guess that makes this acceptable enough. Maybe what they need is a system that you can prove you purchased the game, and if so It will allow you to give it away regardless. But that's obviously no simple task.

It's trivial to prove that you purchased it if it's a gift in your inventory, but what's impossible to prove is that the inventory gift is what was given to the winner of the giveaway. The only way to do this would be to have a site bot accept the gift, then pass it on to the winner. There are some good reasons why this hasn't been done.
