mostly (please, honest to god, prove me different) just sucks.

I know it's my second thread about this, yadda yadda yadda.

The nicest guys (and scammers) you meet, are actually on the steamtrades site, but over here?

I can set contributor as high as i want, i still meet greedy douchebags, who don't even accept a friend request.

Not to mention a single thank you on steam chat window...

I know that there will be lot of people who just say, but you do it for yourself, out of generosity... and so forth...

But where is common politeness? if i'll get gifted something, even if it is Max Payne 3 Special Edition Dlc Content, i have at

least the courtesy to say

Thank You

You can delete me after that, all you want, i don't care.

But is that so fucking hard? Is it asked too much out of nowadays people? Am i surrounded by ungrateful 10 year olds?

Is that it? What do you think?

Let me know, i'm getting tired of this situation.

Maybe i'll join a private group, although i despise most of their "special" rules, (You have to do this, and that and so on)

Anyway, Happy Holidays, i'm drunk right now (Christmas Party), that's maybe why i wrote that stuff,

but you know what they say about drunken people...

Edit: So it seems, that my experience was very well different, than many others around here.

I just wanted to thank your for your feedback here in general, much appreciated. Have a happy holiday!

Try to make forum and puzzle giveaways, I think then the people will be more polite.

Is at least the forum ok? ;)

That's exactly what I decided to do. I didn't like public giveaways, so I made a silly quiz on Itstoohard and got some nice, talkative people. Even when they didn't want the game, they still said thank you and that they enjoyed the quiz.

I know people who agree with you.
I gave out a few bundle keys on the forums and the people who got it "OMG IT WORKED XDDDDD" and I was waiting for a thank you, I even told them if they were going to say it and they replied to something similar to "XDDDDD".

Yeah, there are dicks, but not everyone on SG is like that. Don't let them make you hate this community.

It is indeed. It is also an Italian sport clothing company, and the 10th letter of the Greek alphabet, ϰ.

I would say that's a minority of the community rather than a majority. Yes, there are dicks out there, but most of us are pretty decent.

I love these threads because they normally let me know who to ignore because they're generalizing rude arses (op seems to be an exception to the this). I hate rude people too, more than I should in day to day situations (I get full of rage) but I don't tar everyone with the same brush and accuse everyone of being a greedy douchbag etc. I at least wait for them to do something before calling them out like this.

Stop assuming I'm (and the many people like me) ungrateful before you even have a chance to see that I'm not. Sadly there are pricks in every walk of life but don't let them break you and assume everyone you meet will be one D:

I'm going to try the tip, for the future. I didn't even tar them everyone. I said mostly. It's just because of my last few giveaways. In the beginning i met a few nice people, but that suddenly stopped for me. Maybe i was a little overreacting too, but that was not the point of this thread. i wanted too see what you people think of that

All in all honesty my little rant was aimed more so at the people who do tend to tar everyone with the same brush. Apologies if it seems like I was having a go :)

I AM NICE :D HONEST :D I've got a christmas hat on and a huge open mouth for eating cake. How is that not nice? HOW?

"mostly (please, honest to god, prove me different) just sucks."
This community exists. Explain that. :)

But +1 to Brotbaum's forums/puzzle giveaways -- giveaways are more fun when it's with the people who really are a part of the community of the site.

I think even though this is true only a minority of the community is like that, or at least i have found few ppl like that.

Honestly i dont care if ppl comment on my giveaways (BUT I READ ALL THE COMMENTS), but i would be liying if I said that I dont expect a Thanks from the person that won my giveaway the moment i give him the present. Which sometimes I dont get but wtv i just carry on.

I concluded after some giveaways and watching alot the forums, that the best choice is to make private giveaways, puzzles on forums and a few "seeder" groups.

even so I will still make very rarely public giveaways with 0.00$ contributor, just because i also was one of them, and began to giveaway because i was happy to recieve some games that I wanted.

for now im thinking of some puzzles (muhahahaha).

I have to be honest here. I usually don't say thanks on the giveaway page. I do say thanks on steam, and even if its a key sent by mail i always send a thank you mail :) But on steamgifts i've met some great people wich without doubt would be close friends if only they would live a bit closer to me :) I try to be as good as i can, i've given away games to people who didn't receive their game in random giveaways.
I always listen and i add everyone who adds me on steam. I do delete them again after i know what they where after(Help, question about a game i own, trades etc...)
But i agree that there are some douchebags but lets be honest, they can be found about everywhere.
