mostly (please, honest to god, prove me different) just sucks.

I know it's my second thread about this, yadda yadda yadda.

The nicest guys (and scammers) you meet, are actually on the steamtrades site, but over here?

I can set contributor as high as i want, i still meet greedy douchebags, who don't even accept a friend request.

Not to mention a single thank you on steam chat window...

I know that there will be lot of people who just say, but you do it for yourself, out of generosity... and so forth...

But where is common politeness? if i'll get gifted something, even if it is Max Payne 3 Special Edition Dlc Content, i have at

least the courtesy to say

Thank You

You can delete me after that, all you want, i don't care.

But is that so fucking hard? Is it asked too much out of nowadays people? Am i surrounded by ungrateful 10 year olds?

Is that it? What do you think?

Let me know, i'm getting tired of this situation.

Maybe i'll join a private group, although i despise most of their "special" rules, (You have to do this, and that and so on)

Anyway, Happy Holidays, i'm drunk right now (Christmas Party), that's maybe why i wrote that stuff,

but you know what they say about drunken people...

Edit: So it seems, that my experience was very well different, than many others around here.

I just wanted to thank your for your feedback here in general, much appreciated. Have a happy holiday!

Common politeness is like common sense..... There is no such thing. I tend to not mind much seeing how I tend to send my gifts through email as opposed to adding people to my friends list. However it is good manners to say; please, thank you, and your welcome. Joining a private group or creating your own might be the best solution to your headaches.

Also Happy Holidays to you also.

Avoid the public giveaways, far too many leeches there. Try to join a decent group and give games to people who deserve them.

The actual steamgifts chat is actually not half bad. We have a mixture of people there but we all tend to manage to get along. I have made my fair share of giveaways and about half of them say thanks either in chat or on the giveaway itself. A common problem is they don't speak the same language. Of course they could/should spend the 2 secs it takes to google translate it. I personally have said thanks to every single game/dlc or whatever I have won, with a unique twist to it each time I never just say thanks. Long story short join groups, people are always douchebags you just gotta find the cool ones. I like pumpkin pie

If you want to get rid of these douchebags, set your giveaway with at least contributor 100$ or more. I stopped creating public giveaways because of such people (met couple of them here). And it is always a pleasure that someone thank you after you give him\her a gift.

So far my experience with the community has been very positive. Yes, people are here to win games for themselves, but the people I've gifted to, and who have gifted me games have been very polite, courteous, and nice.

My only minor gripe is the moderation can be a little harsh. I was suspended without warning for breaking a forum rule which I didn't read (posting a referral link). The suspension was justified, but I wish I was told or given time to edit my post before being suspended.

The mods are harsh cause they assume people read the FAQ, if not they should. In other words Ignorance does not mean you can disregard rules

Understood. I'm not upset about it, I'm sure the mods are plenty busy as they are and it's easier to suspend than to warn. Just saying it would make the community feel a bit warmer is all.

Anyway, like I said, I love the SG community so cheers and Merry Christmas to all :)

my experience shows, that when you send a key by email, you get a response with a thank you, thats all good. but when you send a GIFt via steam or email, they automaticly are added to your friend list, and they dont even thank they just remove you and go on with their lives... yesturday i gave away 5 copies... 5 gifts... only 1 person thanked me.

FaithNoMore82, I noticed that you have not yet won a game here despite your quite high entry count. In case you are interested, check out recruit thread.
