I've never found that with the games I'm personally nostalgic about, but when I buy games that other people rave about that I never played in their heyday? OH GOD. AWFUL. I know this sounds like I think I'm a special snowflake, but seriously, what in the hell is going on in Outcast?

I bought Bubble Bobble on Wii Virtual Console and still love it, same with Ghost´s N Goblins.

I bought the Max Payne Bundle for that very reason.

Sonic 4 ep.1. I was so happy they finally went back to the original 2D formula... exept they removed the fun of exploring the levels (yes, you could, if you wanted to) and worst of all... they changed the physics. The game played totally different from the original Sonics. I'll just consider again the series dead and carry on with my life. :)
I also decided to kickstart Elite: Frontier because when I was 4-5 I watched my father playing the original Elite. I'm not very into the genre, but I just couldn't resist. I hope they make a nice game, so that I can enjoy it. Still 1 year for it to come out though. :)

Games I used to play actually did not disappoint me. They are as I remembered them. Also, I tend to play those games not necessarily for their high level of gameplay value, but for revisiting memories. But that may be because I mostly played genres like adventure, point-and-click and puzzle games (I did play some Wolfenstein, Blake Stone, etc. though). I think those might just be pretty good at standing the test of time..?

No. Mostly because I still own basically all of the games that I've ever played.
I guess I could buy some of the games that I frequently played the demos for, like Hunter Hunted, but most of those games aren't on GOG. I'd rather wait to get them from there at this point.

I got 12 dollars pack from GOG on Christmas only because I wanted a game Giants: Citizen Kabuto :) .. thought I might play the other games at some point, but until now I played, and finished just the Giants .... worth it! :3 Also Simcity 4000, never played it but bought it because of old Simcity that I played when I was young... also Wolfenstein 3D. Now I am planning on buying the old Fallout trilogy on Steam.

I bought TES: Oblivion for nostalgia.
Added mods, and honestly it's kinda boring now that I know all that happens.
Still an amazing game.

I bought Dark Messiah for 2.5$ on greenmangaming , and I'm super happy ^_^
This game is just awesome , Idk why I had problem with the steam and disc (The disc didn't had even cd-key O.o) so I played only singleplayer , finished it couple of times and then the disc broke :(
So now after I got it on steam , I can play it as long as I want ^_^ , and multiplayer is really cool , there is some servers on :)

I feel you, I'm buying music that I don't even know if I like. Games are more expensive, so mostly I'm trying to control myself. recently I bought GTA III and Vice City (Own them on Steam already and I don't think I'll ever put it in tray). Same goes with Fallout 3, except this part with Steam. Played it on pirate few years ago and when I saw it on sale, bought it.

I'm the opposite. I recently rebought some old favorites on GOG and loved them more than ever. If anything, it made me really bitter the new games in the series suck and dragged the series' good name into the dirt.

I'd say 80% of the pc games I own are nostalgic. The only disappointment I had was Cannon Fodder being much harder than I remembered it. I replay the hell out of Broken Sword, Monkey Island, old Mega Drive stuff, all sorts, and I love it all again and again :D

...and it sucks?
A few months ago I had a spending spree on GOG to revisit my youth, and honestly, some of the games sucked.
I don't know if it's because i'm used to better graphics and more in depth story lines, or just that I have an awful memory but I was disappointed.
Anyway:
