:(
Was waiting for a more conclusive update before writing something, turns out there has been an update/confirmation for 3 weeks already and now I feel even more sad.
Never knew that an "username" on the Internet gone would make this sad. I got the pleasure of speaking with him a couple of times outside of "giveways" stuff. He was really a kind and funny person!
To all and specially to the family, I'm really sorry for your lost.
Rest in Peace Icaio!

I keep coming back here to read it all again, secretly hoping this is all an effing elaborate joke, that he will just.... You know, be here again.
I've been on this site over 9 years, friends with him almost all that time...
I travel a lot in my line of work, a few times close to, or even in Italy. Talked to him every time - we were gonna grab a beer together. Never got the chance though. Never close enough.
I keep sending him messages on Steam, wishing for an answer... There never is one, never will be.
If anyone ever finds out where he is buried, please DM me. I'm gonna have that beer with the man one day.

I kind of wish I had more to say about him. I won a single game from him, back from when I was entering whatever I thought I could win: Gardens Inc. 2: The Road to Fame
I sometimes wish I was more people-oriented, so I could pay more attention to people who make these kinds of impacts, but it's nice to see so many people are already. Rest in peace.

Late to this but I'll miss all icaio's silly posts and "100% CV free" specials.

Very, very sad news, hard to believe for a long time. R.I.P.
But you know what? I'm playing DiRT3 right now, decide to play Time Trials mode, and guess who of all my friends on Steam has the best time there? So in this strange way we managed to meet again online and even compete to see who is the best... I'm glad that this can happen in our times.

Curiosity killed the cat, but I'm from Jupiter so I'm safe and looked at what I got from Icaio (besides the fun and good vibes):
Nine orphan keys
Seventy eight wins in giveaways (76 games + 2 DLCs)
Five direct gifts (4 games + 1 DLC)
That makes a grand total of 92 keys/gifts from Icaio (89 games + 3 DLCs). I think it's a great legacy from him I have in my library. I've played many of these already, but not even half yet.
Of course he made 33 thousand giveaways, but it's not for those numbers (the ones above, the ones in his stats) why we're in this thread remembering him. I just wanted to..... Dunno, share something about him with you.
One of those giveaways I won happened the same day he died. One of the last 20 giveaways from him that ended in that sad day. There's a secret linked to that win, but I'm not going to tell you.

Gutted to hear of his passing, this place will never quite be the same without him, we didn't interact much, but you couldn't spend some time here and not know of icaio, very much a people's person, generous to the bone and devoted to this community, he made an impact into people's lives. Rest in peace.

I had a few interactions with Icaio during their last year,
They were beyond respectful and friendly.
Here's hoping you are looking down at us from heaven, Icaio!

Hey all. I was contacted again by Michela, icaio's first cousin and she wanted me to share some information with everyone.
She reads the comments here every now and then and it brings her comfort.
The photo of icaio posted by bitsandcrafts made her cry.
She wanted to let RCSWE know that icaio is cremated and his ashes are at his mother's house.
She thinks the icaio Memorial Community Train™ is a fantastic idea.
And finally, she wanted to thank everyone for their love and support. 💙

Thanks for the update canis, this made me happy (and emotional), letting the family know he was really appreciated is the least we can do
Also, thanks for linking the picture, I missed it, and being bitsandcrafts who shared makes it better, thanks guys

Thanks Canis,
It's a relief to know that what we do online can have an impact in real life.
All of my thoughts for Icaio's family

Hey all. I am going to start by saying that I do not have any more information than what I am sharing in this post.
EDIT: as it turns out, I do have some more information
ANOTHER EDIT, just a quick update
As some of you know, icaio has not been on SG for a while, and he hasn't logged into his Steam profile either.
I posted on his Steam profile a few weeks ago, just a quick note saying I hoped he was okay.
Yesterday I received a friend request on Steam from someone I did not recognize. I didn't see any obvious red flags, so I accepted.
This new friend sent me a message today, saying that they were icaio's cousin, and they saw my post on his profile and wanted to let me know that icaio passed away on September 30.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that icaio was an absolute legend of Steamgifts. His generosity, sense of humor and thoughtfulness came through in every 'showerthinking' post and every 'trash' game giveaway and every time he helped to solve a derailment in the community train.
Before I visited Rome a few years ago, caio volunteered to give me his mobile number so I could ask him real-time questions while I was in Italy. And that's exactly what I did! So we didn't quite get a chance to actually meet in person, but it was fun to chat with him while we were in the same country.
Not much more to say right now. Just R.I.P. to icaio, he will always be a Steamgifts legend.

The icaio Memorial Community Train™ begins here.
EDIT: ashtwo had the idea to turn my giveaway into the start of a miniature community train, which is a pretty great idea.

wigglenose
several from BanjoBearLV
xxxka
eldar4k
