Best Spooky/Scary/Creepy Games for October?
I've got a giveaway running for Haunt the House: Terrortown right now, which isn't so much spooky as silly. But hey, it has cute ghosts.
Other horror games from my library:
Danganronpa
Detention
Dreaming Sarah
Kathy Rain
Lone Survivor
Hello Charlotte
Lydia
Night in the Woods
Sunless Sea
The Cat Lady
Stray Cat Crossing
Year Walk
I don't really do jumpscares or graphic violence, so they're pretty much all about atmosphere rather than fighting baddies.

Spooky Bonus is a Match-3 game, not a horror game. But it's lighthearted, quite casual und you get to pimp your in-game home Halloween style.

silent hill 1 of PS1 download an emulator and enjoy one of the most scary survival game.
Obscure 1 and 2 ---> perma death if you die :) so every character it's a key to win or not, you can even co-op
the actual "scary" games are just too bad and not scary at all.......

I'm not a single one who mentioned them but I have to repeat those I think most scary
They are SOMA, Fran Bow (don't forget to take the pills), LIMBO, Silent Hill 1 and Alien isolation

Sunless Sea has cannibalism! That's "halloweeny" right? And what Halloween Theme is complete without Grim! Fandango!!!
Bendy and the Ink Machine has creepy aesthetic out the wazoo. The Last Door seasons 1 and 2 are really excellent cultish dread style. And uh Master Reboot is like neon cyberpunk creepy despite all the rubber ducks. Oh, and from the same devs as Pathologic, The Void is spooky and weird.!

I like to dedicate October to catching up on some of the horror movies and creepy-themed games I've been missing out on during the year, so I'd love to get some quality suggestions about the best Halloweeny games to play this month.
I'm looking to play any fantastic games with a creepy/spooky vibe, which doesn't necessarily have to mean scary - see the Dead Rising games (which are fun zombie blasting actions), or Darkest Dungeon (which is more of a Tactical RPG / Stress-Management-Simulator), or even The Secret World (for a creepy-themed MMO). I usually don't enjoy games that focus on jumpscares for Youtubers, ala anything with Freddy in the title, but if you know of something amazing, you're totally welcome to share those too!
So, given how Steam's recommendation feature is still a little bit lacking, anyone have some quality recommendations for gaming in the scary season?
