It has all the elements of a scam, but i get the feeling that he is sincere. Also who would scam for a dollar

Just get a replacement SS card.

I don't know if you need you Social Security Number, or the actual card, but I would first call whatever government office would handle that, I don't really remember where mine came from....

Other then that, keep looking for your card, and if and when you replace or find it, keep it somewhere safe, and where you can find it.

Haaaang on - I hope that you aren't being scammed yourself. Make 100% sure it is PayPal you are sending that info to (if/when you send it). Would be a shame to give a copy of all of your details to an identity thief!
