Hey Guys and Gals of SteamGifts,
Recently I received a copyright claim to one of my videos, which I've uploaded a about year and a half ago. In the video, I recorded a gameplay of KickBeat on my Playstation Vita. When I first uploaded it, a lot of studios and agencies claimed almost every one of the songs (the game features Papa Roach, Marilyn Manson, Blue Stahli and Celldweller and a few other artists), so I got like 12 emails alltogether. I tried creating a dispute, since I have no AdSense account, so I'm not monetizing any of my videos, plus it falls into the fair use category, since every song which is in the video is part of the game, and I'm just talking over the gameplay about the game. Not a real review, but kinda. At first, they rejected my disputes, so I left it alone, and slowly forgot about it. But a few days ago, somebody claimed a previously unclaimed song, so I got another email. That was the last drop in the cup, so I selected every video I had claims on, and wrote a dispute to YouTube. In it I told them that I'm not monetizing it, plus every music is part of the game. I also told them, that the recording language was hungarian (a language which is only spoken natively in 1 country), and because of that, 3 out of 4 of my KickBeat themed videos has less than 50 views (one has 300+, but I don't know why, its title is in hungarian, so it can't be mistaken for anything else). I also told them that I got enough of their stupid claims, so if they don't revoke their claims, I'm gonna delete the videos. Yes, I know that they won't reach 500 views alltogether, but I don't care. I started YouTube recording as a hobby, because nobody in my country recorded Vita gameplay, so I thought I will be the first.
Have you ever had your rhythm game gameplay video claimed? If yes, what did you do?
P.S.:Let me guess the majority of no answers: "No, because I don't upload gameplay to YouTube" :D
