If you got the key elsewhere, you can remove it from your Steam account by searching for it in Steam Support and then clicking the option to permanently remove it from your library.
This does not work if you won the trial version here because you are not be able to erase your SteamGifts history saying that you won the game and thus still would not be able to enter future giveaways.

Haha.🤯 Honestly, I didn't. This showed up at the top of the discussion for me and I assumed it was an active thread. I didn't even check the dates.

Yogcast = Trial, monthly = Full

That was full, but I recall that it was added to the free games list at that time despite that. There wasn't ever a clarification as to why, so it's unclear if that's due to the mess that trial copies would make of things, or if that was a staff listing error. (Edit: I did later get a staff statement implying it was intentional, for the expected reason.)
That said, I checked about half a day ago, and Tumblestone wasn't on the giveaway list at all at that time, and I'm still not able to pull it up now. Likewise, there don't appear to be any active giveaways up under that listing.
The "Trial to Full Game Upgrade" is still present on the giveaway list, but unfortunately there's no way to tie that to the base game; Therefore, there's just no way to get CV for the game presently.

I think staff removed the option again because there were some giveaways yesterday.

Yeah this is a mess. Unfortunately anyone who owns the game can generate a trail key and those definitely should not be used for giveaways as it's against the rules of SG. Due to this Tumblestone has been removed from the SG giveaway creation list.

Just got scammed with a free trial key of this, the person doing the giveaway doesn't deserve to get the full (25P).

It's on the no CV list so he won't get anything. None the less you should mark not received and tell the giveaway creator about the problem. If he does not answer you can ask support for help. If you accidentally already marked the giveaway as received just click again on it to unmark it.

To be fair, he made two other giveaways for the game, and judging from their Steam Profile, they got the full game. Perhaps it was just an honest mistake.
I would ask them for a proper key before reporting them.

I don't think you can tell from the "outside". and if you just quickly redeem and go skip skip skip, like most people do, a winner won't even know still as it will just say Tumblestone in your library until you actively go looking in your licenses.
Also he pretty much seems to have given free stuff only.

You can't spot if it's the demo or the full game simply by watching their (or your) library. The demo is called the same way as the full game there. Maybe the other winners have also won the demo instead of the full game and they didn't notice it. It happened to me, and it took me some months to notice I had the demo (when I tried the game later).
Note: The full game have a DLC called "Full game update" that can be seen in the steam client.

Oh well, since the game has no CV i'll let it slide.

I had the same problem. I have just created a ticket for this.

Hi, I've just got one of these trial keys and (unfortunately) I didn't know about the related limitations. Is it possible to "upgrade" the trial with a key of the full game? I just want to know about the possibility, I know I can't get such a key on SG now.

Staff already made the game [retroactively] free (I think from unbundled status, even?), so there's no issue of note when the incorrect version is received and not noticed. If you do notice, simply state that it's the incorrect version and mark it as Not Received. There's not much more to it than that, since staff really can't do anything more to solve it, other than once again removing it entirely from the site. Unfortunately, the fact that they made it cv-free does mean that it's that much more unlikely to get a "real" copy on SG now.
I did poke the developer on it, back when the topic was more recent, and they did say they were aware of the matter [since it causes some issues Steam-side, as well] and planning to fix it, but it seems they never did. Alas.
Side-note, it's generally considered inappropriate to necro a topic if you're not contributing new information to it. Just for consideration, especially if you're looking to minimize incoming blacklists.

He didn't mark received neither. The gib must still be pending because it's not on his win list. And in that case it doesn't make a HUGE difference in my opinion.

Maybe I noticed that it was Trial, so agreed to delete it.
Perfect reaction according to the rules.
Maybe if I had the impression the giveaway creator did it on purpose (multipe not delivered gibs / comments on their other gibs the winner received a different game than advertised) I might let them sit on their Not received but taking the high road is never wrong 😉

Hi all, I find myself in a bit of a pickle here.
I just won a giveaway for Tumblestone and as a consequence I ended up doing some searches that led me to a couple reddit posts and steamgift threads. I figured this thread was the most appropriate to write in instead of creating a new one.
I won this giveaway. The first key I was given had already been activated on another account. After informing the user this they apologised and a new key appeared in the page. When I activated it I noticed it activated as "Tumblestone Trial" which was a bit of a red flag so after some research online I discovered this whole debacle.
The user that gave me this game is relatively new to this site, and has already given away 1 copy of tumblestone, there was no feedback on that giveaway page. I did note however that the other giveaway they made also had a slight issue but it seemed to get resolved.
I feel pressing "game received" is not a good idea here. As far as I can tell I don't have the full game and won't be able to get the full game unless I somehow acquire the dlc that converts it to a full game. I feel this giveaway is somewhat disingenuous now as it means I am stuck in a bit of a bind.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Right now I am thinking of writing the following on the giveaway page:
"Thanks for the key, however there is an issue here. The game activated is just a TRIAL version of Tumblestone and not the full game. As this giveaway is meant to be for the full game of Tumblestone I can't in good conscious mark this down as me receiving the game as it is not the full game. I hope you understand my viewpoint here."
I could just make a ticket first before responding, and let the moderators sort this out.
What would you suggest I do?

If it's the trail version you mark it as "Not received" as it's not the full game. Communicating that to the GA creator, like you want to do, is a good idea.
Unfortunately the big issue is people can or used to(not sure if it's possible still) be able to generate a trail key in the game to give to friends and a lot of those keys seem to be sold to grey market sites. The GA creator possibly purchased one of those and made a GA not knowing it was the trial.

I'd argue that the big issue is that the developer actually promised to fix the issue back then (Nov 25 2019: "We are aware of this issue with the trial version and are in the process of finding a solution.") and never did. >.>
To put that in full context, it seems that owning the trial version blocks out the ability to buy or receive a full copy of the game (unless the trial is removed from account), so there were apparently niche issues even outside of community integrated sites. So it's all the more awkward that they never got around to it.
I guess after so long, we can assume they gave up on the idea. :S

Hopefully they will be able to provide you with the full game.

Okay with the current Tumblestone giveaways, so a certain site (ending with .su) we can't mention because of rules, is giving away 10000 keys for Tumblestone, however they seem to be trial keys (and it will show up in your licenses as a trial which you can not remove as with a demo, and it also makes you look like you own the full thing, while it isn't) the trial only allows you to play online with friends and makes this messy, because you won't be eligible in the future for giveaways of the real full version of the game (unless someone offers the upgrade DLC).
Also if you own the full version you can make trial keys, so who knows some might have won one of those here already and marked it as received, if you aren't sure check your licenses page.

"I IOAN, while you can give a handful of keys to your friends, it does automatically limit the number of keys that can be generated daily. If you've generated a lot of keys, the game needs you to wait a little bit before making more. Also, note that these keys are just for the trial of the game, not the full game, so when someone activates a key, they can only play with you online, and not play the full game."
