Cool, thanks for the info. Will have to give it a shot after I try Wizardry.

I'd definitely say give it a try...haven't personally had any disconnect issues. As smallDaddy said, the skill gems and passive tree is extremely well done and the graphics are quite good too if you like dark and gritty themes. It's F2P, so you might as well give it a shot. It's not an MMO though...closer to GW (the first one) in that you have towns where you run into random ppl, but all quest zones are instanced.

Sweet, thanks for the clarification. Sounds good, will have to play.

People aren't getting dc'd because it's unstable...well it happens occasionally..but for the most part they are kicking players on a cycle so that everyone can get a chance to play. That's why if you log in & it tells you there are over 16,000 people in line ahead of you in the log-in queue, you can still play within 20 minutes of booting it up.

That's interesting if that's true...did a dev post that somewhere? It may explain why I hadn't experienced any disconnects because I'm a Kiwi Pack purchaser, so it'd make sense for all Kiwi supporters to be immune to the "time limit".

They sure have, in the log in screen. You probably wouldn't see it if you don't have to wait in a queue during the peak hours.
I don't even know if it it still happening; the devs said that they were trying to add more server space to fix the issue so it may have already been dealt with.
Edit: Queue is still in effect during peak hours. Just just dc'd, tried to reconnect but there were 335 people ahead of me in line, so I had to wait 20 seconds.

Well TQ is better than D3 also :P. To this date, TQ still has the best class/skill system of any Action-RPG.

I love Torchlight 2, don't get me wrong. And I definitely think it's a better overall game than TQ. However, I still feel the class/skill system in TQ is unmatched at this time. If you haven't played TQ, just take a look at www.titancalc.com to get an idea.

Actually, TQ has pretty crappy skill system.
I've played it few times, finished only once. What killed this game ? Too boring, it's funny at fist parts (unless you're playing with friend)
As for skill tree - it's really weak. Because of it's structure you'll ending playing whole game with 1-2 active skills and 1-3 passive. I've never ever had any skill past third line. Ofc at second and third playthrough you will get all skills....but as I said, this game is too boring to play it more than once
On the other hand, class mixing was good (but still, too many skills, too few points)

or dont want to be fucked in the ass of by blizzard in yet another game

It's a great game indeed. Sadly there has been much trouble with the servers and client crashes.
6 player parties, no dumbed-down features, great variety of specs. The different classes just choose where you start in the passive skill tree, meaning you can pretty much play any "style" as any class.
Died at level 57 hardcore earlier due to a client crash. :( Oh well, back at level 52 already!

Game rocks i love it so far and actually i know many ppl say they had server issues but i haven t had any so far.

Yes, when open beta is over it will be free. (well its free now, but you get what I mean) I don't see how griefers would a affect this game a much as something like DOTA2. (or noobs for that matter)

If I want to play this kind of games, I want the market to be as clean as possible. That's my main worry about this game being f2p. About the noobs well, if I want to make my game public, at least I want to see decent players. One example is borderlands 2, I rarely see noobs there.

But...unlike DOTA 2 your not matched with random people...so I still don't really see your point. (but I will leave it at that)

It's free but everything you do is instanced: you can go and do every single quest like in Diablo without anyone running around you and stealing your loot while being connected to trade chat and trying to sell stuff to other people from whole server. Or you can do quests in some party with friends.

I gather that characters will be reset/removed when beta is over?

^This. Confirmed no more wipes. You can essentially consider the game soft-launched.

Game is awesome. It has gem skills that you can amplify with support gems, it's not easy like Torchlight. And passive skill tree is not a tree, it's more like jungle, you can get lost really easily :P Give it a shot, because I can't stop playing it since open beta.

The game is great, it's as simple as that. If you like Action RPG's / Hack & Slash, you'll like it

Hated it when it was in closed beta but now I can't stop playing. It's got some complicated mechanics but you get used to them fast. Plus it's free and microtransactions give no advantage whatsoever other than looking amazing.

So far. I wouldn't be surprised if Town Portal scrolls find their way into the store once the game goes full release.

I'm not entirely familiar with the devs nor have been following their progress, so I can't say if they have always kept their word, but due to how the economy works I doubt they'll do it. The microtransactions look amazing, and they sold at least 250 diamond supporter kicks (equivalent of $1000 kickstarter packs) so I don't think they'll be needing to add that.

I wouldn't have a problem if town portals are sold as long as they remain in-game drops as well. You definitely don't get hundreds of them like you did in D2, but they're there...you just have to be smart about not wasting them.

Same here. I'm rather happy with the manner in which you get scrolls, and for that matter the game economy as a whole. Even if Portal scrolls go microtrans I would be shocked if they stopped dropping, since it would be a complete comfort thing anyway. Instance resets give you enough time to run back to a vendor & there are more than enough waypoints, so I don't see how adding them could imbalance the game at all. Either way I've been playing since Beta went open and I haven't used a single one yet..just adding them to the stacks in my stash.

I suggest you give it a shot. There won't be any more character wipes, so there's nothing to lose.

Seems to be all the rage these days in the MMOG realm, but I know very little about it. I know it's similar to Diablo at least.
For those who play it, do you enjoy it?
