Android VS iOS
I've owned several android systems and currently I have a 4s, and to be honest I'd rather have a mid-range android phone, let's say a MotoG or some kind of Huawei or whatever than any apple devices. They are not of my liking, at all.

I always thought the discussion is a bit silly. Most of people don't choose between android or iOS but between overpriced Apple products or cheaper products that happen to use android.

But I was mostly referring to the discussion in general, as it's just flame bait anyway... Everybody has their own preference. It's basically the same as asking "red or blue"?

Android, I like having a wider range of models to choose from... and the price of course.
Also apple's interfaces make me die a little inside.

If you are BFU you should get iOS. If you want to use your system in more different ways than just BFU (modification, tweaks, alternative ROM, manage your files, manage system files, whatever you imagine etc) - you should get Android. iOS after jailbreak is usefull as non rooted android.

Cons: - Requires more RAM and better hardware
- Less optimized because of the wide range of models
- Less curated app store
iOS
Pros: - Better optimized
- Requires less hardware
- More curated app store
Cons: - Less tweakable (contrary to common belief, still moddable)
- More expensive
- Monopoly
Before you talk of the UI, you have to know, these points were things that are objectively comparable. Something might be subjectively better, but using that as an argument is like saying "Ride to Hell: Retribution was perfect, because the motorcycles looked very cool and the artstyle was amazing".

In my opinion iOS is not necesarrily bad, but Apple products are just overpriced in my opinion. I prefer android (or windows, don't really care which one), since the phones are generally cheaper (some exceptions). If apple products were the same price however, I think a lot mor people would actually switch to apple products.

Sometimes I miss my old Nokia N95 :) one-handed use without looking at the screen! I could dial someone without even taking the phone out of my pocket!

I used v5 for an year and then v3 for 4 years. Lets just say I was very happy when I got a Oneplus One last year :)

i have many android and one old ios.
i prefer ios over android in a romantic world without money restraints. so my vote.
ios is too pricey for me and I have a bigger library of paid sw for android than for ios right now.
nevertheless I'm buying a new ipad soon, maybe
