if you like the game, then buy it. rule #1 of common sense with video games.

hmm... well that seems troubling then. Then waiting a couple months would probably be best if you are patient enough. by then you should be able to see if the community has grown enough to your liking. I didn't play it over the weekend so I honestly don't know how good it is, but the trailers I've seen look promising.

Oh, what exactly didn't you like about it?
Just a thing, I didn't like the game myself when I first played it for a few matches.
But then, when I got into commander mode and 3 english people who are good at teamwork, oh boy, I fell in love with this game.

It's really impossible to have a sense of how the game is like before you've played 2~3 solid matches.

Played it since beta, best game I've played in years! Everyone has his own opinion...

I owned it before the holiday weekend. I hadn't played it in a while, and I'm glad the free weekend came around and reminded me i still had that game. I think it's a really great game: well thought out, good graphics, good balance, good UI. I'd recommend buying it.

I bought it GG's sale for some ~8$ a few days ago.
The game is pretty buggy.
Classes and weapons are still not balanced.
Both factions are almost the same.
A nice game, I just hope they fix the bugs and make the game more "fluent" (TF2 is a great example).

While TF2 does run smoothly due to the fact it runs in an older version of the Source Engine (Nuclear Dawn uses the L4D2 version of the engine) the game is not polished. Hat models clip all the time, about 80% of all recently added weapons recycle old animations, doing a terrible job at it (loch and load is a good example) and not to mention that the art setting of the game is forever ruined due to the major influx of silly headgear. The new added weapons have been proven to be most of the time either completely ineffective for normal gameplay or just plain overpowered/good looking enough to replace the base items.
I'm not really being a bitch about what you think about TF2, but the fact that you compared every wrong aspect with a completely different game while your base of thought is wrong itself is pretty laughable. Nuclear Dawn has over 11 specialized classes if you count each specialization subkit for each available Class.

i don't really like the rts aspect of it. too simple compared to, say, natural selection. and it didn't feel like i was in command of my team. they just ran all over the place and once every few minutes i would get a voice command requesting orders and i had no idea who said it or where he was on the map...

I feel exactly the same as you. I didn't get a chance to play as the commander but the fact that it's an FPS/RTS hybrid makes me want it even more. I love developers who try something different. Gameplay is indeed fluid and I love the soundtrack and whole look and feel of the game ^^ I'll be buying it as soon as I have the money! Hopefully during the Christmas sale!

It wasn't bad, I enjoyed being a sniper and siege exo. Gameplay seemed fairly balanced. Matches though can take a while unless it has a time limit. The graphics are ok, and I did find the game occasionally buggy (unresponsive to certain input occasionally). It feels like a real siege. It can be played online as if you were solo, or on a team. It is like a military and a class based shooter that reminds me of Star Wars Battlefront (minus the vehicles).

So, guys, what do you think? I've had a couple of decent matches with my steam group.
Overall I have to say in my 12 hours of gameplay, this game is awesome. The game is fluid, I love playing as the commander, it's simply amazing to play and very fun to help other teammates fight enemies.
What do you guys think?
I also intend to buy it a month or two later (hopefully, earlier, like a Christmas gift) because I really loved the free weekend trial.
Should I buy it or not? Did you guys like the game?
