So it's not just me then. That's unfortunate. Shame there isn't some system (that I'm aware of) that can auto redeem them. Maybe like what HB used to do, but I don't see people going for that.

Not that often actually, I had this one giveaway where I had to reroll twice, as both of them already had the game, when the third person also said he had the game I was like f this and deleted it.
But so far that's the only problem I've ever had. Here's hoping it stays that way.

I don't think most of mine would go for that, given that it's bundle junk.

I've only rerolled once, but most of my giveaways are invite only, so that's kinda expected.

I'm prolly gonna end in some blacklist for saying this but i have 1 key that i won which i didn't activate....
how do i make it up cuz i didnt know ur not supposed to regift won gifts to someone else.
I did it when i first joined without realising my mistake. is there a way to make it up? like make a GA of the game i won for the community?
Or am I doomed to wear this brand forever :c
p.s sorry for popping on your thread for my question... I'm ashamed to start my own for this question

oh that easy? will do! thanks for reply. luckily its a cheap game!

Acquire another key/buy the game and activate is the only way as far as I know.

Get the same game and activate it on your Steam account that you use for SG.
Comment has been collapsed.
I said this that way because I have seen people with a main and a secondary/alt Steam account activating the game to the wrong Steam account.
Off course you can have only one SteamGifts account. :-)

yeah i didnt like the win so i gave my game to some guy who had no games on his library then realised ur not supposed to do that.
thing is i get blocked from entering some ga cuz of unactivated wins.
Comment has been collapsed.
Out of curiosity, then why did you enter?
Hmm, looks like it was in your first week on SG. Maybe it was just a case of, "ooh, 500 copies: free gamez!" =)

yeah! i was entering all the GAs cuz i didnt think i'd win anything.... when i won that i realised this site was legit and free.
but i wasnt interested in the game per se so i gave it away. didnt realise u can't do that here.

Yes, we've been asking for a long time for that to be clearer when you create a GA-- that you can't regift. I'm sure somebody knows the issue with the various suggestions, but none have been taken.

Oh but i didnt use my won gift to recreate a GA. i just gave it to somebody else. i know its still bad but i didn't realise it at that time.
Now that I do, I'll try to make things right.

You're right-- I'm combining the two possible outcomes that originate with not activating won gifts: re-gifting or giving/selling/trading it away. It's really the re-gifting side that could benefit from a disclaimer when creating a giveaway. For your case, it would require something when entering a GA or maybe a very short list of major rules that must be read/accepted prior to joining SG. I think it's great that you plan to, as you say, make things right. My sense is that very few do.

Just buy a copy of the game and activate it on your account. It's on sale for 50 cents right now on Steam.

Yes, the actual number of reroll requests was 84 but the difference of 22 are denied rerolls because of a clean private Steam profile checked by SG support and denied rerolls because of already served a suspension.
Also about a 1000 giveaways are SGTools giveaways with checks like all activated and no multiple wins.
Most rerolls are from the about 400+ public giveaways I did.

A better wording would have been: the majority come from public giveaways. I guesstimate around 40-45.

12 requests from 311 public GAs, 10 approved/2 denied for already served. Roughly 3% seems kind of bad, but your (estimated) 15.5% failure rate is brutal.
Might add that MOST of my GAs, while public, are level 2 or higher, which naturally weeds out some of the less scrupulous users.

On public low level giveaways I have to ask for a reroll about 50% of time. About a half of that gets approved.

1 time when the winner already had the game.
1 time when the winner had a nonactiveted win.
1 time when the winner was kicked from the group before the GA ended.
1 time when I asked the winner to set his profile to public and he told me that he doesn't feel like proving his innocence and told me to reroll I don't even...
Anyway, don't discourage yourself and don't let a few bad eggs take away the joy of giving from you! I^v^I

I'm not discouraged, just wondering if I should do tighter requirements to enter.

83 GA's, two re-rolls
One was no longer in group, one had multiple win.

I do level 0 public giveaways almost exclusively, and I tend to save up for a while and then post a big bunch all at once. Last time I did a batch of giveaways, there were 76 games given away. I submitted 20 rerolls and was granted 16 of them.
So I guess the answer is that I need to ask for rerolls on about 25% and get the rerolls on about 20%

Hm, I'm interested: were about 70-75% of those rerolls from one country, and about 95% of them from three countries in total (usually the email address domain tells, many don't use global or feature their true nationality at Steam in some form or another)? Asking because this is my experience so far.

When needed, atm 24 out of 701 (all already had the game/dlc), but I usually do giveaways for higher levels.

Re-rolls are unfortunately pretty common to see on lower level public giveaways, as many low-level users are greedy people who are here to win as much as they can, and usually don't care too much about the rules.
(And they possibly use bots and scripts to automate entries, so it gets even worse when talking about DLCs and complete packs.)
Personally, I had to request a re-roll on my very first giveaway, as the selected winner (most probably using an autojoiner) already owned that DLC.

It's pretty common on my public low-level giveaways...but I don't do many of those anymore because 1) it takes me time to verify/request rerolls and 2) it takes Support time to verify and accept/deny my request. I protect my long trains via simple no-broken-rules SGTools checks, and I haven't had any rerolls (that I can recall at least). In the case of the long trains, I add a couple of public GAs that link to the SGTools check so you don't have to be a forum-dweller to win my games...you just have to know how to read. :)

So I just had 4 giveaways end, and 2 users had un-activated wins, this is on top of the last giveaway I did having a winner with one win not redeemed. I'm noticing this becoming more and more common. How often on average do you guys who give stuff away find yourself re-rolling winners?
Have I just been unlucky lately, or is it starting to become a bit of a problem?
