Is there a point to even try make a ticket asking refund after more than 2 hours? Not much over 2 but still. Just wondering maybe someone actually tried it and what the outcome was ?

When the refund option first came up, I refunded a game which I played like 2.5 hours. So yeah, if there is not much difference there is a moderate chance that they will accept.

Supposedly they're more lenient on your first refund on your account, as well as having been more lenient during the start of refunds. I haven't heard of anything but strictness of late.

I swear I got it once either with playing more than 2 hours or I had it more than 2 weeks... But recenty all my requests get rejected for either being over the cap :(

Depends on the game. The longer it is, the more likely they accept the request.

They were lenient in the beginning, but they've cracked down hard on this.

Yeah i remember refunding dishonored ( not related to the game itself . It's great ) back then system was just introduced, no questions were asked .

I think they've caught on that people buy stuff and try to return it during sales when the price drops, so they've had to be more strict enforcing the return policy. It can never hurt to try, though. The worst they can do is say no.

I tried to return an inventory gift that was 16 days old when the sale started, and they refused it right off. :3

I kinda did with this one. I love cRpg so much. All the originals ones and the revivals like shadowrun, pillars of eternity, dragon age origins and others but this one just doesnt click with me for some reason ...cant even point out what i dont like.

Not an exploit, but rather an expectation of price adjusting, due to how prevalent it is in US retail (nearly every major US-based store offers a 7 day price adjustment window, I believe). In the EU, consumers have far greater legal protections than in the US, and the expectations are even stronger.

But, regardless of outside context, Valve has repeatedly and explicitly stated 'lower price' as being a valid refund reason, so.. o.O
(It's even still listed in the FAQ).

I refunded Ark after I'd owned it for about five weeks, but then again I had maybe 40mins logged on it. Could never get it to run decently, got sick of the automated system denying my requests, devs were dickish the twice I tried getting help with it, so finally sent in a ticket.

Day after I got the money back they rolled out the paid DLC. Talk about good timing ;D

I was able to refund Space Hulk: Deathwing with 3 hours played. I kept experiencing fatal errors in every multiplayer game I played. I tried to give the game a chance. I will also note that it is EXTREMELY rare for me to refund a game, and that I buy games every week from Steam, so that could play a role. Not sure.
