Can't buy anything?

Is anyone else having trouble buying from Steam? I keep getting some message saying the payment option is unavailable...for boith PayPal AND my Visa card...I guess it's a good thing I'm not trying to buy any flash sale items...

It's certainly not a server issue since I made a purchase literally seconds ago without any problem. Did you maybe make a lot of purchases earlier? During the last sale I did the mistake of multiple individual purchases in too short a time and my account got some kind of purchase block for some hours. If this is the case be warned that every failed purchase adds 1 more hour to the block.

I've not bought anything from the store for AGES though...and hopefully this "payment option unavailable" thing doesn't count as a failed purchase in this regard, or I'm fucked

That's exactly the message you'd get but if you didn't make any purchases recently I'm guessing it's something completely different. Did you try adding funds to Steam Wallet instead of directly purchasing the game?

I've now tried with my Steam Wallet, I "stole" $5 off my missus to put in there, and I'm getting the same exact message...I've sent a Support Ticket so I might hear back before the next Summer Sale...

Try log out and log in again. Yesterday there was an error that prevented me from logging in. You may even have to clear browser cookies. Be warned that if you clear cookies, you won't be able to trade for 7 days afterward.
