Crusader Kings II DLC

I don't have time to give details for all. But here is a rule of thumb

If it's $1.99, songs or some graphical improvements etc. No gameplay change.

If it's more than $1.99, gameplay change

The gameplay changing ones are Sons of Abraham, Old Gods, The Republic, Sunset Invasion, Legacy of Rome, and Sword of Islam.

Yeah they went a little crazy.

Personally I have Old Gods, Legacy of Rome, Sunset Invasion, Sword of Islam, Ruler Designer and customization (since I want to name my countries). also sons of abraham has new gameplay stuff as well.

The vanilla game is fantastic but if you only get one I suggest the Old Gods, it pushes back the start date and lets you play as pagans (who dont really need a CB to start a war).

Sons of Abraham, Old Gods, The Republic, Legacy of Rome and Sword of Islam are enough to have a perfect game (these are expansion packs, not dlc's)
You don't really need Sunset Invasion and other cosmetic dlc's.

The old gods, sword of islam, and the republic are all fun and worth getting (on sale). Sunset invasion got a lot of bad reviews because it adds non-historic events, but it actually balances out the game: while the mongols pillage eastern Europe, the aztecs pillage the west. Legacy of Rome is kind of fun, because it adds a new du jour empire, and I love empires.

Ruler designer is fun. Haven't played sons of Abraham, but looks good too.

I got all of them (aside from Sons of Abraham) and if I had to recommend just one, I'd go with the Old Gods DLC. It adds an absurd amount of content to the vanilla game and it is insanely fun. You won't regret it.

Sword of Islam and The Old Gods have the most playable content among all other DLCs.
