I found a magicka; wizard wars in my library

Believe it is supposed to be free to play with a closed beta. Maybe you got it by owning the first.

Don't forget to farm the worthless cards. I listed a foil, valued under 40 cents.

I actually never purchased any of the magicka games. But it's a free game I can farm cards with so why not.

It's weird it actually is dropping cards with the Alpha Access as a free to play game would usually only give you 1 card for every 9 dollars spent - so the alpha = starter set would only give you one card, not like 4 drops.

You have to pay to get into the alpha, the keys people got for free were from owning any of the Mount & Blade titles, because Paradox interactive won't be publishing any further M&B titles and it was a sort of consolation gift. I believe keys for the alpha were also given in some bundle as well, can't remember which though.
