Yeah, they really didnยดt do the best job of making it all clear on their store page... and of course it basicly all depends on what you want ;)
If you want everything gameplay-related, you only need the base game and the season packs 1-4. Everything else on the DLC-list is either already included or just cosmetic stuff.
The "Year 5 Gold Edition" includes all these things plus a few cosmetic extras and IMHO is well worth the price.
If youยดre unsure about the game, you can of course start with the base game. Its already well-rounded and filled with lots of content. And if you like it, Iยดd strongly advice picking up all the season-DLCs later. The game in its completion ist simply amazing and later bought DLCs will still unlock in your current game session (so no need to start a new game).
If you also want the cosmetic DLCs, the "Definitive Annoversary Edition" would be the way to go.

My problem with the game's price structure is that if I buy the base game first then it's still cheaper to buy one of the Gold / Complete Editions later on top than to buy the DLCs separately. Meaning that I'd throw 12 EUR out the window. On the other hand 40-50 EUR up front is too high a price for me to jump into it.
I really dislike publishers that shaft players looking to upgrade from the base game.

The sale pages are still mostly too buggy for me to properly browse any games, but I have to say... I'm unreasonably disheartened by the fact that I won't be able to get a seagull badge. Level 2500 for even the very first one is simply not doable.

Honestly the whole concept of these high level whale badges is an utter waste of time (not to mention money). If they want benjamins this much Valve should just enable people to buy the badges they want. But I guess we can't have consumerism without predatory practices.

Goblin and Coins (2016) -65% off ($0.69) A simple platformer with 35 handcrafted levels, 5 boss fights, minimal storyline and some cooking recipes to unlock. You're a goblin cook trying to retrieve coins before your boss the dragon finds out they're gone.
Goblin and Coins II (2023) -50% ($2.49) A sequel that has upgraded graphics, extended mechanics (like unlockable upgrades, revisiting levels) and so on. Some people seem to think it's on the difficult side, but there's more to it than meets the eye.
There's also a bundle that enables you to get both games together and save even more.
Both games work natively on linux/steamdeck, support gamepads, cloud saves, adjusting keyboard controls, multiple languages...
