Should I install Origin?

Been trying to fight it for a while, but now with the extremely cheap Humble Bundle, Mirror's Edge 2, a new Star Wars Battlefront game...

Is it worth installing it? Any serious issues that I'm probably unaware of?

I don't think I can keep the fight up much longer. :3

EDIT: Free Battlefield 1942 convinced me to get it. Closing this thread before it turns into a shitstorm.

Despite all this nonesense hating, Origin is pretty good/decent, and from client standpoint, it's even better than Steam (Works much faster and with less bugs and crashes).

its not nonsensical, EA have a terrible Rep and origin used to be spyware but they have apparently since changed their EULA

As long as you dont want to play the ultra DRM-free you will have to install it anyway to play these upcoming games. Also for ME3, BF3, DS3, Sims 3 and Crysis 3. And HL3 ofc. All other are just downloaded by Origin and run without it then.
