Hello bros/sists, Today, i wanna ask you something; What profession i should combine with my other one, mining.
Class: Warrior
Speciality: Protection (primary) // Fury (secondary)
Level: 90 (don't have W. of Draenor)
Current professions:

  • Mining lvl 600
  • Blacksmithing lvl 270
In this week's, i was leveling a bit Blacksmithing, and i spend like 300 gold, buying materials in the auction house. (Because i don't have enough time to farm all the materials). But, after talking with my guild master, a blacksmith lvl 700, i dont see much future in that profession. (For my gear and sell). I think than i can change it for other profession, what do you believe?

Important: Have in mind (Because i already accept it :c) than i ain't gonna have future expansions, like "Legion", the same YEAR than its been released, because i dont have the money for buy it. (Its not just 80, 100 bucks; in my country, is pretty damn expensive).

What i know of those professions?
Jewelcrafting: Small, but good self benefits; good for sell.
Engineering: Good self benefits; more things for vanity; not the best to sell.
Blacksmithing: The best in first times of expansions; not to good when its over.

That is all! If you wanna say something more, you are welcomne in the comments!!!
Hugs :3

Engineering - (make them BUUUUMM!)
Jewelcrafting - (We have a f**k** Onix Panther!)
Blacksmithing - (Stay in, it is better that you know!)

Engineering is awesome, no idea what it's like nowadays but when I played it was definitely my favorite of those three

Engineering is funny. And it's mostly for PvP (well it was about 2 years ago). For selling I'd reccomend you to mine low level reagents.

If youre after profit, out of those choices, Id go jewelcrafting. After I made my gear and upgraded it on my BS toon, wasnt much profit to be made since the gear you can craft didnt sell very well for me and the upgrade/reroll tokens dont go for very much on my realm. Selling gems has been working out much better for me (though I still get most of my profit from enchanting).

Unless you are really attached to mining, you could always drop it. Right now, the garrison provides an obnoxious amount of ore. Ive had no problems keeping my BS/Eng toon well-stocked with just the mine.

Professions are very homogenized these days, they all have some main ingredient with a cooldown or something, and offer very similar rewards. Engineering is tons of fun in pugged PvP though, I've been saved more than once by the Nitro Boost and the Glider.

"Bros"? Not a particularly nice way to begin a topic, seeing as not everyone here is a "bro". But, anyway... I'd personally go with jewelcrafting. Since I remember gems being expensive, you'd be saving money by creating your own, and probably make a decent profit from selling.

You are right, edited. Sorry for that, is just than i usually found much more masculine people here, its pretty rare to found a sist (and they are so welcome!). Just for that.

Damn, can't you just play it right (like me) and just kill everything you can kill? Honestly, I never picked up any profession but I voted for engineering because making boom is closest to destruction and destruction is closest to killing everything.

Jewel crafting is your best bet. Even low lvl gems sell well so you should be good regardless of when you buy the expac.

If you want anything but gold from profs the go with w/e you like. No point in min/maxing profs since the gain is negligible for the most part (if you were doing Mythic than it would be a different story).

Engineering if this is the main character you will be playing out in the world the most. Engineering makes the game more fun, and there's many useful perks. Jewelcrafting is a good way to make money, but you'll eventually end up with less played alts who can take up this profession. You also get plenty of gold, selling unused mats. Mats are usually worth more than anything you will 'craft'.

Ugh, Blacksmithing. I always found it so boring to level it up :/
Regarding the poll, I'd probably go with Jewelcrafting.

I quit early this year but JC was the most profitable, people always needed gems and for each new piece of gear they need more gems.

Always had Engineering on my main and it always gave an edge to combat. The rocket boots (or whatever the thing with speed boost was) could be great for a warrior, though not always guaranteed to work, I think there was also the extra shield bubble which might be nice when you're prot.

Your right about blacksmithing only being good at the beginning of an expansion and for a very short time but also only if you're willing to work for it. I remember someone trying to sell me gear and I was thinking "fuck no" because I would be getting better in no time at all from LFR....

So....
JC for money.
Engineering for fun.
BS for torturing yourself.
