I heard it's an issue on discord's end and the link works for some and doesn't work for some at all. I suggest you wait till further announcement from the dev!

Previously, there was some erraticness (on the SG side) because the OP has some needless parameters appended to the url (discord invite URLs don't need anything set for ?[etc], so just strip all that off), which caused several issues (For example, in my case, I couldn't get it to load into browser without glitching, or into client at all, until I stripped the parameter section off).
In this more recent case, however, the link returns an "invalid", which is usually a sign that the link has expired, which by my admittedly limited Discord experiences seems to be a fairly normal occurence. In theory, all the developer should need to do is create a new invite link to their Discord group, so it seems unlikely there's any issue on Discord's end (unless said issue is that the developer is having issues creating a new link).
To support that consideration, the new invite code (offered by SNK7 just below) seems to work just fine, for me. :)

well, i asked about it on the another indie discord server as i was already there, one of their admin said something about an issue on the develioper's discord side . Yeah i saw the new link , and it worked fine. Thanks!
Edit - apparently, it was indeed an issue on their end with the bot ( they had to contact the bot creator to fix this) and they made an announcement with a new link to join, you are right!

I don't understand a thing of what's happening there... How can you go to the #lootbox channel? Discord seems like a nightmare...
Poor way to distribute the keys, not to mention 2 wasted days waiting like an idiot... The phone verification is the cherry on top!
I do have patience, but if that joke goes on for 1 more day I'm not gonna bother... I'm sorry.
Btw I'm mostly mad about the botters for ruining the whole thing, and not about the devs and their poor decisions on how to destribute the keys.

The key giveaway is not even happening yet. I'd suggest checking out the Announcements channel in their discord.
I wasted some time trying to figure this out. So hopefully this helps save you some time. It will be 2-3 days from now.

- Our new bot will DM you a captcha
- The bot will give you a role if you are verified

Phone verification should be something which is entirely handled on Discord's end. That said, it's apparently infamously buggy and, puportedly, can even lead to your account getting locked. So.. whatever, you're still fine to criticize the dev for choosing to use it, regardless. Nevermind that requiring phone or address verification for anything is usually fairly rude and intrusive, if there's not a damn good reason for it [and as plenty of other bot avoidance methods exist for Steam key distributions- eg, see below- there's just no basis to legitimize it here].
Honestly, by this point, it's turning into a pretty solid guidebook on how not to do a free game promotion: "Let's arbitrarily offer the keys through a service not everyone uses [despite there being no personal gain to the developer for drawing attention to this service and superior options existing], while implementing the most troubled parts of that service, and then further layering on haphazard implementation to maximize confusion and limit access."
I really don't get why it's so disagreeable to the developer to run the key through distribution methods like Humble, Steam client, Steam account linking, or Steamgifts. The first one lacks adequate protection against resale, but that's easily handled by just invalidating keys after a certain date. Aside from that, any of those methods seem rather more substantially reliable, user-friendly, and stable than the present Discord methods.

I dunno, judging from the little I have seen on that server it's mostly spam and casual talk, and many people will definitely stop caring about that server as soon as they are gifted a key.

My point was, their Discord is neither setup to engage nor retain users, nevermind present details or promotions related to their games (and that was before they wiped the channel). If they're honestly using Discord on purpose to attract users, then that actually makes it worse, given the fact that right now they're not only not set up for that, but set up in a way which actively encourages users to leave [after claiming freebies, if they can actually manage to get access to them with all the channel's issues].
So yeah, as you noted, it's not a server anyone would care about (or, more broadly put, it's an arrangement with no clear return for the developer), but at the same time this is yet another one of those promotions where a developer is likely to wipe out any good will related to the freebies [though we're so used to them by now that I'm not sure how much that really affects a company's brand image anymore], and maybe even generate negative impressions. In short, it should be a net loss to the developer to promote in this manner.
Honestly, I'm just getting the impression that the developer hasn't put any thought into the matter at all, start to finish. Combine that with the lackluster reviews of Legrand [which, to be clear, I do still want to try, so not trying to indicate any personal perspective], and it just gives an overall air of dubiousness to the developer (and their future releases).
So, to clarify, none of my posts have been indicated to disparage or express irritation towards the developer (after all, even if I have interest in the game, the weak reviews do rather help to make missing out on it easy to brush off); Rather, I'm just bewildered at their approach, and the extensive thoughlessness seemingly behind it.

I absolutely agree with you. All in all it's been a confusing approach, but as much as I wish they will use different methods for giveaways beggars can't be choosers so I can't do much other than accept things as they are.
For the record I'm among those who tried hard to get a key and still didn't get it. Let's see if I'll be patient and lucky enough to obtain it later or if I'll give up before then XD

Look at the #announcement channel and follow the instructions - you won't need to give your phone number. That discord thing that asks for your number is just weird will go away once you rejoin the server.
