Read this:
"The point system is designed to prevent users from entering for every single giveaway. This lowers the overall number of entries, and provides everyone with better odds of winning games they're interested in playing. New users start out with 25P. Every time anyone submits a game, every member of the site, excluding the giveaway creator, receives 5 percent of that gifts value (in USD) in points. For example, if a $50 gift is created, every user on the site receives 2.5 points. And, if a $20 gift is created, everyone would receive 1 point. These points can then be spent on entering giveaways.
1P = $1 - When entering a giveaway, 1P is equal to $1. If you're entering for a chance to win a game valued at $20, you'll spend 20 points. If at anytime you decide to remove your entry while the giveaway is open, those points will be returned.
The maximum number of points that can be banked is 300. This is to prevent users from stocking up on points while being away for long periods of time."

What the hell? There is FAQ, but users like him are too lazy to read it. He's not learning, he want everything prepared especially for him, very common on forums - ppl create threads, but they actually could get answer quicker, if they only wanted to find it.
Also, user who are you replying too is calm, so maybe you will "calm the fuck down and don't be such a prick", cheers.

People can be calm pricks so saying the guy is calm is irrelevant.
Maybe OP didn't see the FAQ or knew it existed or something. He is learning. He asked, he got answers, he just learned something. At least he's bothering to find things out instead of doing stupid shit out of ignorance.
Wanting someone banned simply because they don't know things is extreme and ridiculous. It was an innocent question. Annoying maybe, but oh well. Shit happens.

The FAQ was created for a reason. You might not care about repeatedly telling users the rules but it feels like 10 times a day users flock to the forums to ask about the rules when, surprise surprise, the FAQ is RIGHT THERE! Takes just as much effort to find the FAQ and read them as it does to find the forums, make a thread, and check for replies. As an ADDED bonus, they also get to know the REST of the rules that they might make ANOTHER thread about.
Ya, admittedly I'm a prick, not going to deny that but I have no heart for users that cant be bothered to find a site's FAQ before joining/right after joining said site.

The fact that he's asking doesn't mean it's necessary for you to look at his questions or answer them.
The replies don't bother me. I'm not complaining about the replies like you're complaining about the threads in question. I just think your idea of "ban people because they don't know things and want to find out in a way you personally find annoying and inconvenient" is absolutely absurd.

At least he bothered to ask a question, even if it's a simple one, instead of being one of those morons who makes a giveaway of 3 copies of whatever the latest Call of Duty is because he thought that's how you won. (As an aside, why is it almost always Call of Duty?)
I mean, c'mon, if you hassle newbies for asking questions, they'll gradually just prefer to stay ignorant.

Honestly, I would recommend rewriting the FAQ to be a lot simpler. Not that it's necessarily "right", just that I suspect it's a fact: It induces a tl;dr reflex in newbies. It's overly complex and long, to the point where the base rules aren't even on the initial screen, and I have my Firefox maximized on my 1280x1024 second monitor so I think I have a sufficiently large browser size. It's just poor design that the most immediately relevant information is buried under a bunch of links to different FAQs and guides, and because of that design it's not surprising that a lot of people don't fully read it. I'm not saying they shouldn't, just that they don't.

Jade said something about rewriting the FAQ completely. Maybe even have sections linked to the sister site so you could just click on a "relevant" section and be greeted by your answer. So its in the works.
Also, whats relevant to one person is irrelevant to another, im just saying.
Is the FAQ long winded, yes, but its required to be because frankly commonsense isnt common and everyone needs to have their hand held and have everything explained in explicit detail which is sad but irrelevant.
Also, to further add to the pointlessness of this thread, and by connections my own little "tiff", when you try to enter a giveaway you dont have points for it points you directly to how you get points.

I would gladly accept the ban if it also meant that everyone that spams the forums and breaks all the rules because "its too damn hard to find the rules" were also banned. I was new, and I knew to find the FAQ before I started posting. Its not hard and should be the first thing anyone does when joining a website or a community.

You have to head to cg's house and take part in a sacred, highly secretive ritual.
Let me just give you some advice, in no particular order: Bring antidepressants and anti-nausea meds. I hope you're good with both cats and dogs. Bringing a gift, such as wine, flowers, or a cake, is acceptable, but us experienced folk know to bring a small live pygmy goat instead - just take my word for it. And never, under any circumstances, ever let them run out of Cheetos or Mountain Dew. I don't care if you have to run flat out ten miles to the nearest convenience store, do not let that happen.

It sounds like you're setting up an elaborate nerd-date-tryst between CG's pets and the pygmy goat. Presumably the meds will be for yourself after you've seen the end result of the Mountain Dew-fueled interspecies affair.
Does he have a website for this kind of thing? How do I get my membership? Will thejadefalcon be ravaging stuffing whilst his family looks on?

I'm sorry, I can't go into more specifics. They're likely already listening to this thread and I wouldn't want to cross them. All I can say is I really wish that's all the goat was for.
