Just so you know, few if any games are region restricted (Aus has censored games, but that doesn't happen often), but we do have to deal with price restrictions. New Zealand has lower prices for most games. Aus doesn't at last check. So Kiwis are unable to gift to Aus.
Meanwhile, other games might be blocked to other regions. Looking at your recent deleted, there was a game that would be impossible to gift to the UK and Europe from Aus because they had a price difference over 10%. Guessing you had a winner there?

As the games are from Humble Bundle I get the restricted regions list when I create the gift link. Both Homefront and Homefront: The Revolution were only available for AU and NZ. I then looked at Mighty No 9 and the countries excluded (list was huge) involved countries from Europe, South America, Canada, Eastern Europe. At which point I gave up and just decided to make them all for the Au and NZ regions. The only two games from the Saints Row bundle that had no restrictions were Lost Horizons (being given away on Lugum's Christmas jigidi) and Secret Files: Tunguska. I confess the Saints Row 2 actually only excluede DE (too lazy to check it but suspect this might be Germany) but by then I did not care. The keys are from back in July and the rate that Humble are offering up free games I decided I needed them gone :)
The game I deleted was actually created for Lugum's post, but he prompted me to get in and check for restrictions..sure enough, there were. Have hit this issue as an Australian with GamersGate very recently...and yes, not much luck with gifting on Steam if the friend is not in Australia/New Zealand. Would be interesting to see how other Australians are getting on with gifting. So far Fanatical keys and Indiegala keys are usually ROW for me. I will have to take more care when buying on Humble from now on.
Edit: I deleted the Homefront giveaway before it started...so no hassles with upset winners :)

Huh, never knew about the Homefront locks, they must be more recent as I know old keys for the original didn't lock down that hard.
At least with Steam gifting, you are better off with your US prices. I can't gift sod all. :P

Hate the new gift restrictions on Steam. Prior to that change at least half of my gifting on SG were games in my inventory I had picked up because they were cheap at the time.
I am used to converting from US to Aus...am hoping we never get the Australian prices on the Steam store. Every time another country gets their own currency the forums flood with upset people (some prices up, some games not available :)

Aus is just getting price rises :P
Did you guys get that extra 15% yet?

An extra 15%?? Hell...don't think that has happened yet. Am sure I would have noticed.
Edit: Our government brought in an extra 10% tax on online purchases that was supposed to start 1 July this year. Now if I buy on Steam I have tax noted, but the overall price did not change from what I could see. Assume the devs just swallowed that small loss.

Region restrictions are a royal pain to give away. I did intend to gift these as part of Lugum's jigidi event or even a small Christmas post of my own. It did not occur to me that the games would be restricted leading me to have to delete two giveaways and double check quite a lot more. Am finding these restrictions are popping up more and more on other key selling sites as well.
In the nearly two years I have been active on Steamgifts I have only ever participated in two region restricted giveaways. Hopefully there are a few Aussies and Kiwis on Steamgifts who can participate and the numbers will be low for good chances at wins for you guys :)
Have a public giveaway going now for Homefront, also region restricted, open to any level https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/k9Rq2/homefront
The rest of the games are available from 8 am tomorrow morning (Sunday 17th Dec) and will finish on Friday 22nd.
