Don't think it's bots, just people who leeched and had no intention of saying thanks. I don't think anyone programs bots to search forums for keys and then also read for some sort of text and the bot is supposed to know which letter to try first "a" "+" "o" "r" "b" all for multiple keys before they get locked out. Sure you can make filters for this specific scenario to help a little but it still wouldn't be perfect and then still it would be easier to spam random keys instead until you hit a game that's activated but just hasn't been used yet..
