The code is invalid because you didn't read what to do with it. Don't waste time rearranging it though, as it's duplicate by now - likely been within minutes if not seconds, that's how it goes here.

It's a little quirk of GoG that the Amazon Prime codes generally redeem as unique library entries, so as in the Hitman case you can inadvertently redeem a duplicate of a game you've already got (free or bought) without GOG letting you know.

Just as an FYI if you ever buy from GoG that it sometimes works the other way, if you see a game on special the store page sometimes won't acknowledge that you already own an instance of the game, only letting you know once you proceed to checkout. It doesn't happen with Hitman but I've seen it with other Amazon freebies I've got like Morrowind. I don't know if the store would actually let you pay for something you've already got but I'm not game to test it either.
