I definitely know that feeling...when I was in college, I had to live in a dorm building without AC, and the first and last few weeks of the school year were hell. Humid subtropical climate + no air conditioning = feeling like death every day.

Anything above 0 C is too hot. I'm glad I bought a fan because there is absolutely no breeze right now so having the window open doesn't help.

The only time I've been to the East Coast was waaaaay back when I was 19 years old (I'll be 44 on June 22nd). I went to Cornwallis, Nova Scotia for Boot Camp. I was stupid back then, and fairly lazy. Two traits that aren't very good to have when you try to get into the Navy. I really wish I could have done things differently, as I could be retired with a really nice pension right now!
But even though I didn't make it through Boot Camp, I will always remember the time I was there. The base at Cornwallis (long since decommissioned) was right near the coastline, and it was really beautiful in that Province! It was quite chilly, as I had gone there in March, but I do think that it would be a really awesome place to visit (heck, that would go for the entire East Coast I am sure!

I've been to NS quite a few times during the summer (mostly around Halifax). It's a nice change of view from the beaches of PE, although I'm honestly pretty glad I can go to the beach whenever I want to around here - and really, really nice ones at that. Smooth, clean sand. :P

Same here, though I'm only boiling during the day.. at nights or evenings like this one I'd freeze if I left my window open, weirdly..

Open the door to your room, open the window partially, and let the air current roll in and out. It will cool down the room even if you're not directly in front of the air current. Try to minimise all the other issues that prevent you from doing this.

Thanks for the tip but yeah, that's what I usually do, opening my windows. But when it's way too hot and humid outside and there's hardly any wind, that's simply not an option.

EDIT¹ : AC has been installed, yay! It’s not a very powerful one so it can’t really properly cool down my apartment buuuuut it’s better than nothing.^^
