Celebrating our things, eh? Alright.

Here's to celebrating being in less pain than you were the days before!

πŸ‘ It's great to hear of anyone being in less pain; especially with the current absurd interference with medical practice.

Edit: In my country, no idea what country your in so that might not apply. Regardless I'm happy for you, :)

Thanks. And I'm in the same country - the opioid epidemic is awful, but so is cutting people off without an alternative. It's a real mess.

And the progress I made was in my left hand, which is doing even better today. My doctor actually recommended surgery for carpal tunnel in my right hand, but my chiropractor recommended against it and the specialist I saw wanted me to just use a brace at night, so I feel fortunate to have run into doctors who look for less extreme alternatives.

Also, your avatar is kinda freaking me out... :)

I'm in the cut off without an alternative boat myself sadly enough. Working on it though.
I had surgery in April need more ASAP but due to lack of meds I'm not doing it.
(Full dental extraction, 1 part done but need all top & bottom removed not just 1 side)
Plus Chron's, Scoliosis, Spinal Stenosis, Visceral Hypersensitivity & plenty more.
But "other ppl are OD'ing on Fentanyl analogues so I guess I get to suffer for it." πŸ™„

I actually said that last sentence to a Dr!

They agreed that the "opiate epidemic" has nothing to do with pain patients or pain killers. Then denied me my meds due to worries about the "epidemic" they just said agreed isn't due to pain patients or their meds in any way.
They still worry about there license writing less than the 90 MME "Guideline". It's a damn guideline!
I'm willing to go below what I need just to meet said "Guideline".
Which is a "Guideline"; not mandatory & doesn't apply to everyone. Still nope. Worried about their license.
I think I might have to move... RIDICULOUS! ABSURD! INHUMANE! ETC!

Hoping I make some progress though. 🀞 As ATM life is at best an existence; but enough ranting.
As you can probably tell I feel a ton of RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION!
My apologies though, πŸ˜‰ I try to spread the message of what's really happening.

If anyone happens to read this & is interested in the topic please visit the following sites:

Anyone reading this can help the cause! This is not directed at you Timobkg.
Your welcome to check it out but hopefully other posters read this & also check it out. 🀞
To anyone who does check it out, please help; spread correct information, comment, contact officials, etc. It's greatly appreciated!

I'm glad that your hand is doing better! It's great to find Dr's & specialists that actually do there job! I'm happy for you! πŸ‘
I hope you continue to make progress & you have less pain & better hand function.

As for the avatar.. Yeah it is kinda freaky LOL. It's part of the Alice series by Trevor Brown.
I'm a huge fan of his work. It's very controversial though. A lot of his stuff is very very NSFW. I enjoy low brow & art in general though.
Mark Ryden, Camille Rose Garcia, Chet Zar, & Alex Grey (I've been to his COSM exhibit it was great!), to name a few.

As you can probably guess by Alex Grey I'm a huge Tool fan as well.
Due to my lack of meds & such I'm waiting to listen to the new album though. I want to feel well when I experience it. πŸ™‚

Anyway sorry for such a long post. I'm on the autistic spectrum & tend to be very effusive in my posts.
(Especially when I'm talking to others that can relate to pain experiences) So again my apologies for the long reply!
It's always nice to meet new ppl who are friendly & polite. I hope you have a great day & things continue to go well for you.
I'll add you to my wl of ppl I've tagged as friendly & polite. Thanks for the reply.

Oh I just noticed your profile. I was born in NJ myself. I don't live there anymore but funny coincidence regardless. πŸ™‚

No need to apologize for the long post - I tend to be long winded myself. :) I also have family members on the spectrum, but really that just taught me that everyone is different.

It's funny to randomly find so much in common with a stranger. I like your avatar, but it is very creepy. It reminds me of a local artist I saw in Philadelphia - I wish I could remember her name, but her art was similar featuring enlarged heads and it was equally haunting and captivating. I'll try to find her name, maybe I took photos or wrote it down somewhere. And I'll take a look at art by Trevor Brown, and the others you listed - thanks for sharing that. I didn't know the connection between Tool and Alex Grey - it reminded me that I haven't listened to Tool in years, but I absolutely loved their Γ†nima album and listened to that a ton.

Anyway, I hope you're able to find ways to manage your pain. Seeing your list of conditions makes me feel fortunate that I'm only dealing with carpal tunnel and chronic back pain. Full dental extraction? Yikes! What lead to requiring that, if you don't mind my asking? I've heard of people finding CBD oil helpful in helping to manage or lessen their pain, but that's a really recent product with no real testing or guidelines or standards. Still may be worth looking into if you haven't already.

Thanks for the interesting reply, :) It's funny indeed that we do have quite a lot in common. I'm glad I could share some useful info. πŸ‘

As I said I'm a big fan of Tool I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite album. I listened to all of them a ton, LOL. Alex Grey did the artwork on Lateralus & 10,000 Days as well as the new album Fear Inoculum. I'm looking forward to listening to it. I didn't get lucky enough to buy a physical copy before they sold out though. The resale market is already at least 4x the retail so I'm gonna listen to digital.

As for the question on the dental extraction; honestly I'm not 100% sure. The dentist said it was from drinking Gatorade. That seemed kind of strange to be the only cause; to me at least. My wife & I have a cat that had all it's teeth extracted after developing a auto-immune condition that caused it's immune system to attack it's teeth. To save it from possible lethal complications we had them removed & she's been fine since.

Based on that & my relatively decent knowledge of medicine (mostly pharmacology & psychology) I wouldn't be surprised if my issue isn't immune related in some part. I know genetics are a HUGE factor in tooth health as well as medications. I'm guessing a combination of things.

It was very sudden. I had no cavities or dental problems my entire life. In less than 2 years I went from that to only having a few teeth in the front that aren't literally pitch black. All the rest are pretty much pitch black. They also began breaking apart. What I have left is jagged pieces or just a black recess. I can't wait for them to be gone TBH as they hurt & taste awful. I've had half of them removed all at once.

The other half sadly enough are grown into the jawbone & have nerves wrapped around them. I was told it will require a skilled surgeon in the hospital to get them done. As there is a large risk of nerve damage. The dental surgeon who did the first half was supposed to do them all at once. He said "Fuck no".

That & what amounts to not touching the other half. You're autistic & I'd likely do enough nerve damage you'd go nuts. So that complicates things. I'm going to get a 2nd opinion if I ever get my meds straight! As the dentist that did original x-rays said they could do all at once NP. It was at the same dentist that the surgeon said F no. So that's 2 very different opinions at the same place. I don't trust that.

I still haven't even gotten my dentures made due to my med issue. I'm just not up to it. Besides the other half sucks so bad I don't think it'd make much difference. I think them hitting the ones that are left would hurt to much to make them of any use. So I'm waiting till I'm up to it / get the other half done.

I use Cannabis. It does help. Not CBD oil specifically though. In my case I vape the flower. I also eat a THC candy each evening to help with appetite. I am underweight but .17 BMI over the cut off for insurance to cover nutritional supplements. I have a lot of digestive & nausea issues. I take a very effective anti-nausea med as needed. Doesn't fix the digestive issues though. Which goes hand in hand with my bath room issues but that's to be expected with Chron's. That's Cannabis is Dr. approved so no issues there.

Not being able to chew things doesn't help either though, LOL.That & after the tooth extraction they wrote me Clindamyacin instead of the fucking Ciprofloxacin I asked for! Clindamyacin is not recommended in ppl with GI problems. I ended up with a nasty case of C. Diff.

C. Diff. is the devil! I think it might hurt worse than the damn teeth extraction did. I was so dehydrated by the time I went to an urgent care (As I said I know medicine & knew right off I had gotten C. Diff.) when I got sent for the labs I requested it took 6 different veins to find one that blood would come out of. That was with a compress after inserting the IV catheter. It was ridiculous as my Dr's office told me it was no big deal & tried to schedule me for a few weeks later. I'd have been dead if I hadn't dealt with it myself or gone to a hospital.

I just walked in & told the urgent care Dr. "I have C. Diff. I just want a HAT for a stool sample & blood work to confirm it so I can get the meds to treat it please." I never even went into a room. They wrote me my orders at the reception desk & sent me on my way. Needless to say I was right & thank God I took care of it when I did. I was so anemic my Dr. assumed I was taken to urgent care & the hospital I got tested at by cab or another person. Nope I drove myself. Dr. though I'd have been unable to walk let alone drive.

Sorry for the length on that but I wanted to warn ppl about C. Diff. Don't ever take antibiotics unless necessary. If you do need them be sure to be informed.

A very long answer to your question but an answer it is. πŸ˜‰ Regardless it's nice talking to you.
I hope you have a nice day & continue to do well. :)

The physical version sold out? Wow, I guess they really underestimated demand for the album. I'm honestly a bit surprised with how popular they still are, they have amazing staying power where other bands have faded away. I feel like I should check out the new album now. :)

I kind of feel bad, I realize I haven't really kept up with any of my favorite bands over the past several years. Many of my favorite bands and artists have released new albums, and I haven't heard any of them. But I also find that I'm listening to less and less music as I get older, where before I used to listen to music all the time.

And wow, sounds like you've had quite the medical experience. I'd trust the dental surgeon over the dentist - if the dental surgeon says, "No way, you need to go to a hospital surgeon for this," I'd trust that opinion and go with the hospital surgeon. But, wow, that's a real mess. I'm sorry to hear that. :( If that started happening to my teeth, I'd be freaking out.

Same with the C. Diff. That's really unfortunate. I'm glad you were knowledgeable to self-diagnose and catch it in time. That sounds like a really scary situation. How is your wife handling all of this?

If anything, at least you've made me feel much better about my conditions - because while I may have chronic pain and discomfort, at least I don't have all the stuff that you've got going on. :) I'm sorry if it sounds like your misery makes me feel better, but it's kind of like just as I'm thinking that I'm starting to fall apart, you come along and say, "Oh, no! You're not falling apart. Look at me, now this is falling apart." :)

Anyway, I hope things start to improve for you, and you have a great week. :)

I hope this is accurate I typed it all up & then had to deal with RL things & came back to it & I don't have time to double check before posting. So here's hoping. πŸ€žπŸ˜‰

Yeah, the physical version sold out. It was an interesting package design with HD screen & speakers included which I'm sure helps. Tool fans are rabid though, :) The whole beating out Taylor Swift for #1 on the Billboard thing was hilarious. I could care less but seeing all the pissed off young ones wondering who Tool was made me laugh. Luckily I managed to catch them live a few times when I was younger before my health tanked. I saw A Perfect Circle as well. πŸ‘

I'm looking forward to checking the Tool album out myself. Hopefully I'll be feeling well enough to want to before to long. Have an appointment later this week that I'm hoping I can get somewhere with. Not getting my hopes up though.

I find I also listen to less & less music. There's tons of bands I myself haven't kept up with. I love music but I just don't enjoy it much anymore. Things are to dismal ATM. I find even my favorite songs no matter how upbeat; just make me sad. Reminds me of the past & the time slipping away as I do everything I can to change a situation; I can't really change. It is what it is though.

I agree on trusting the Dental Surgeon over the Dentist. I'm going to get a 2nd opinion somewhere else without mentioning what the first place said to see what they have to say with new X-Rays. Sadly until the pain medication issue is fixed I'm stuck just letting them rot & hoping it doesn't get into the jawbone before people come to their senses & let Dr.'s practice medicine.

Thanks for the kind words. I freaked out initially when they first started having problems. Going from no cavities to chipping black teeth in like 6 months TOTALLY freaked me out, LOL. By the time I go to a dentist to get it checked though; I know enough medically that they all where going to have to go. So I was prepared when they told me that; as they expected me to freak out. It was a hassle as I required a specialty clinic to put me out as normally your awake for the procedure with just local. I wanted general. I can't handle more medical trauma.

I have PTSD from past medical procedures that went awry. Nothing like being fully awake during a colonoscopy / endoscopy combo. πŸ™„
(Trying to keep it somewhat SFW the other incidents are way more horrific.)

So yeah I've been through a lot in my life. I mean I'm getting older but I'm only in my 30's. I never expected to be less functional & have a lower quality of life than my mother who's in her late 70's at this age. I'm happy she's having a good quality of life & no health problems; don't get me wrong. I'm just using it as an example of the stark contrast.

I feel if more people knew how stigmatized & horrific the treatment that chronic pain patients are receiving (more like not receiving!) that perhaps things might change.

Again no point getting hopes up though. I've been involved in pain patient advocacy since this mess started & nothing has improved. Besides a few media stories finally covering the pain patient side lately, there's been no real progress.

Anyway I'm rambling as I tend to do. Especially when I'm trying to distract myself.

STRESSED doesn't begin to describe knowing that the difference between having so little functionality that showering more than once a month is something you feel proud to have accomplished. Compared to getting the medication you need & living a life that still has many limitations but at least you can keep yourself clean & not be essentially housebound. As at this point the appointment will make the difference between the 2. So it's kinda hard to think about much else.

Regardless I'm glad I was able to make you feel better. No worries at all!

That's one of the few joys I have left in life ATM. Helping others & doing what I can to make it so that even if I can't do most of the things I enjoy; I can at least try my best to help others & bring them happiness. So thanks for mentioning it. It's always nice to brighten other peoples days.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement! I hope things go good for you & you have a great week as well.

So you have chronic pain, depend on pain killers to let you function, have extensive medical knowledge, are often stressed, and like to help others...

Are you a real life Gregory House? ;)

LOL. Thanks for the comment! That actually made me smile.

I needed that. A break from the stress of getting together journal articles & prescribing regulations. I figure the more factual information backing me up the better. Though considering recent research into people's belief systems, facts might actually be counter productive. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Anyway, I'm back to it. Thanks again for the comment; made my day brighter. πŸ‘

😬 That stinks. I hope they didn't steal anything which was non-replaceable.

Do you get a new car out of it, or was just stuff inside the car stolen?

Just things inside the car. And I'm a poor bastard without insurance on that kind of theft. And yeah, some irreplaceable things, and some valuable things are just gone. It's a sickening feeling, and I also have to pay for new glass for the window since my deductible on the car insurance means I'm responsible for that much.

So... yeah, good people, those who return lost things, and do things for the happiness of others -- you lot are awesome, wish there were more of you.
