Just for future reference, if I win a game here but I don't want it, can I use the key to trade it away or possibly give it away again?

Nope, and why would you enter a giveaway if you don't want the game anyway?

Ah that's what I was meaning, is it against the rules. And I gaveaway like six games and haven't won anything, so I enter just about everything whether I want the game or not. I was just hoping that I could trade away what I win for something I want.

ye its against the rules to giveaway or trade a win... but only if you get caught, which tbh is highly likely now that youve highlighted that was what you would like to do. lots of sherlock holmes wannabes on here who will now watch your account for the chance to grass you up if you do anything wrong.

Yea, and they will write a support ticket to tell on him and someone maybe reads it after a year. :P

Entering for stuff you don't want simply for the sake of winning may stop someone who DOES want the game from winning it. That sucks.

And yes - it is against the rules, but probably more importantly, it's a major lobcock move.

nice of you directly starting by giving away several games.

good thing you ask about the rules.

many people here are game collectors who play only a fraction of the games they own. so if you win a game you 'randomly' entered, just add it to your account and give it a try, when you want to. maybe its good and you enjoy it, maybe not - uninstall and let it sit in you account.

hint: look for puzzles in the forum, they are fun and you have significantly higher chances of winning.

So after 2 or 3 days on the site and not winning anything, you decided to just enter random giveaways instead of looking for games you actually want?

You should take advantage of your Steam Wishlist, it makes so much easier to enter to the GAs of games you actually want to play, since as a rule you must activate the Steam key once you receive it.

no, it is not allowed.

if it were, you could make a group of persons passing around games via ga infiniteley to gain cv/levels.

If you are new you might wish to read the faq and guidelines, those should answer most of your questions.

Kudos for bothering to ask, it shows that you at least care for finding out whether you can or not. Welcome on SteamGifts ! Respect the rules and other members and it will be a pleasant ride.

Also, be patient... winning can take long.

Oh I do that all the time, whenever I win a giveaway I ask the gifter what he can offer me in return for the game i just won from him. If they're not interested then I block them.

It takes a longer time to win games than just 2 days. Entering public giveaways I used to win 1 game / month on average (now I got a bit more in the last couple of weeks probably because the old SG modding scripts are broken and less people enter to giveaways? :D dunno). Unless you enter private/private group giveaways, it's probably not really worth to waste money buying and giving away full price games, I always just give away whatever games I don't want from the bundles I buy.

So SGv2 has made it easier than ever to find the FAQ and Rules, but apparently people are still ignoring the huge button on the top bar. How can we fix this problem?

when you create a thread including alot of certain words, a pop-up with a banhammer gif and faq link. how does it sound?

hm, I'd prefer we make the users somehow voluntarily read the FAQ, before he/she creates a thread.
