I can be creative, but I don't have the talent to paint my creativity, so I'll probably just color it. :P

Seeing your coloured version gave me an idea for mine.
Only thing is I don't know if I can manage it with the colours I have. :s

Heh, hadn't thought of that. It does feel Brazilian. :P

Colour version added, will make changes to it, but this is a first version.
I wonder if anyone will know where it is from.

Something in the background at least, not exactly sure what. Don't want to make it too difficult to draw. :P
At least it is recognisable, I call that a success.

I had a few ideas for this one, but finally settled for a word art image involving things the Statue of Liberty stands for. I was aiming a bit for a contemporary street art look that you could get using a stencil (mixed with the word art of course) which I think is rather fitting for New York.

Just a word of caution, since the format is so big and the dimensions are so off compared to the original, it may not look that good in the voting gallery.
Interesting idea though, and you kept the detail in the painting and kept the focus on it, so it's allowed. :)

It will still look very small, imagine what you see here on SG and then about half or even a third. So the actual design in the middle will be no more than 70 pixels tall or so. I would recommend not using black bars though, we are after all able to look at it at a bigger size when clicking on it. It's just that the image in the gallery view will be very small.

I was trying something different this week.. result is a bit meh =P
It's also totally possible that someone else already did a version like mine (not necessarily for this challenge)
Should be gold shaded as the other challenge id the golden pavilion ..but I've never been able to recreate a nice golden effect yet :\
There should have been a further step in this but I've dropped it because I'm trying to also complete the pavilion..
EDIT: Oh, forgot to say I've hidden the numbers in this as they kind of ruined the image.. if it's not ok just tell me and I'll correct the pic :)
