I didnt really like GTA IV (not played it a lot, but I dont want to, since I get easily bored). I remember playing San Andreas some years ago and I had a looooooot of fun with it, but I think that nowadays you can get better games. I wouldnt but them.

San Andreas is definitely my favorite game from the franchise, but i find it really hard to enjoy on PC because the controls are so messed up. I have a 360 controller and the triggers and right analog stick don't work. So you can't manually turn the camera and binding the buttons is a real pain. On top of that, if you run the game with frame limiter off, the cars will always have the handbrake on, that goes away when you put on the frame limiter, but then the game looks like you are playing on a PS2.

Wait for the sales! The current deal is really overpriced. I remember buying GTA collection for only a dollar more on steam about two years back, I think it was also during a winter sale, and that included GTA, GTA II, III, IV, San Andreas, Vice City and Episodes from Liberty City.

GTA IV is boring and shallow. I recently watched an IGN video where they tried to summarize the entire previous generation, and basically all the redactors agreed that GTA IV was just crap, and shouldn't get such high notes. It's less content than any other GTA, uninspiring story, poor mechanics and repetition. It was rated so high because of hype, graphics and physics, and all of these wore out quickly. Now the physics are laughable and the visuals are poor, so there is no good reason to play it anymore.
San Andreas is a much better introduction to the series.

I've never played GTA at all, and it looks really fun after looking around on YouTube on some vids (specifically made by KPopp) and it now went on sale for 7.50 Euros (10 USD~) for both games, and I bought a PaySafeCard so I could gift my buddies when the steam sale starts.
However, if I buy it now I might not be able to afford gifts for all my friends I wanna give to (i could take away one or two from the gift list tho, or buy another paysafecard later on..) and I'm not entirely sure if I should buy it or not.
What do you say? Should I buy it and potentially not be able to afford christmas gifts for some people or should I skip on this deal?
