I like shrimps and stuff.
Lobster is "the same" but more work -but can be very interesting for nephews :o)- and a part of the lobster taste "stronger" and is a bit harder then shrimps.
I normaly like seafood so its not hard to please me with that :o)

I too have a general dislike of seafood and haven't found any lobster to be enjoyable (but to be fair I also don't like shrimp). Only seafood I almost always like is salmon and some fried stuff.
EDIT: And the occasional tuna salad sandwich.

I'm surprised you like salmon, as cooked salmon is one of the strongest and fishiest tasting fish to me. I love salmon sushi and smoked salmon, but can't stand baked / fried salmon.
You may want to try Chilean sea bass - I think it's one of the tastiest fish and one that most people who dislike seafood enjoy. I myself dislike seafood - including shrimp, lobster, clams, and most fish - and I absolutely love Chilean sea bass.

Eh ... I think it's mostly just how my parents season it ... especially when they make salmon patties.

I'm pretty sure it is the steam being released from the shell that causes the sound that seems like "screams". But yeah, tossing something live into a pot of boiling water is rough... That's why I used to ask the market to steam them on my behalf.
There's also a technique to jab a knife into their tiny brains to kill them before cooking but that was even more onerous :-(

There's also a technique to jab a knife into their tiny brains to kill them
That's a bit of a misconception. While pithing (the process you described) or decapitation is a standard method of killing seafood prior to consumption, it doesn't actually kill lobsters.
As crustaceans do not have a centralized nervous system, unlike vertebrates, they do not die immediately upon destruction of one discrete area, such as the brain. [>>]
The commonly accepted humane method of killing lobster these days is full-body electrocution, thus shutting off their nervous system all at once. A long-standing alternative has been splitting the lobster in half in a single cut, doing enough damage at once to kill it quickly.

Actually, Red Lobster cleaned up their act several years ago and now the chain is actually really nice - excellent entree's, amazing cheddar biscuits and if you order lobster, you'll be getting a live one, freshly prepared for you. But note, that the meal will definitely be pricey...
You may say, who the heck is Momo to give you a recommend for Red Lobster - so I'll say that while it is not Michelin star quality, I have eaten in a number of top-100 restaurants in my day. Think Le Bec Fin or Geronimo. So I can assure you that Red Lobster is a good bet if you're willing to drop $30-$50 per person (and possible more if ordering a fresh lobster of any significant size).

You may say, who the heck is Momo
I like to think that Who in the heck is Momo is the hybridized off-shoot of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago? alternatively, off of Where in this effin picture is Waldo? and Guess Who?.
"Does Momo have a good recommendation, and is she in a seafood restaurant right now, and is she the one in the prison outfit?"

snickers
Momo does usually have good restaurant recommendations (though I highly suggest making sure you ask for fiber-filled foods as your side dish :-p). "She" is not in a seafood restaurant right now and her pick from last night's repast is the melted Gouda spread as an appetizer and the MOBA burger - two wagyu beef patties with aged-cheddar and super crisp bacon. Side dish? Mashed cauliflower - kind of a weird take on mashed potatoes.
And since I travel a lot - sigh, I miss home - I might actually qualify for "Where the heck is Momo?" :-p

"she"
Sorry, I always default to "they", but it's been a rough morning, and I had Waldo on the brain- that jerk- as I wrote that.
I love cauliflower, but as of yet, I've been unable to enjoy mashed cauliflower (well, when it's done up as a potato substitute, rather than as a basic veggie mash). The whole vegetarian thing gets in the way of some of the rest- I do eat Gouda regularly, however.
I might actually qualify for "Where the heck is Momo?"
Sounds good. Don't forget to get yourself a catchy theme song.
On a related note, I'm looking forward to the 2019 reboot. I'm just not sure it can meet my.. expectations. Here's hoping!

If you love (boiled) shrimp, you may like lobster - they don't taste the same, but there's some similarity.
Personally, I don't like lobster at all. And I don't understand the people telling me to try it with butter - I already know I like butter. If I want to eat something dipped in butter, I'd rather eat bread - it's much cheaper, and I actually like it.

I like Rock lobster
On cooked lobster, I like that too. If it's cooked well it's a bit sweeter and softer than shrimp, also a lot of work to get at the best bits in the claws & arms. Really expensive in my part of the world though.
I actually prefer crab in terms of flavor - they're a bit more savory. But I stopped eating those altogether years ago when they were really being over-fished. Don't want something to go extinct over my personal tastes and all. Maybe I'll try again when they're available in good supply in a sustainable way again.

Curious what kind of fish have you tried thusfar?
and have you tried gamba'swith sweet chilly sauce?

I tried it and it was tasty. A lot of people compare it with chicken, but i would only agree for the consistency..
Unfortunatly, I cant eat lobster in combination with lemon acid in order of an allergic reaction.

I've tried it and it wasn't really that great. To me it was pretty tasteless, like how scallops are. Only thing I could taste was the butter I dipped it in - didn't try it plain without butter.

I've been looking for that one day where the family treats me to a restaurant of my choice for the ol' Birthday, and one of the things I've never had is Lobster. The thing is, I hate fish, but I love Shrimp. Whether it's made chewy or deep-fried, something about Shrimp (once I got over eating one) just tastes good, and I read around online and they say Lobster can taste like Shrimp but a different texture.
I'm curious if anyone out there knows what Lobster tastes like and would like to share their experience? Or if not lobster, Crab?
Also if it matters, the only place I've found that sells Lobster around here (others but only EXTREME fancy type) is Red Lobster if that makes a difference. Thanks for any input :v
