I've just won a giveaway for Iron Madness, entered the key in and it's came up as Battle Cars.

I've clicked through into the giveaway so I could contact the person that created the giveaway to let them know they'd made a mistake with the key, however it says I cannot view the giveaway because they've blacklisted me...?

Any help on what I can do to not get a mark against my name for not activating a win would be appreciated.

EDIT: Thanks for the quick help on this! Looks like Battle Cars IS Iron Madness + apparently some giveaway creators blacklist winners so they can't win again from them. Cheers everyone!

If you can't contant the giveaway creator simply mark as not received after 7 days.

Contact support. Otherwise you'll be reported for not having registered the game you've won.

It looks like Battle Cars IS Iron Madness. Confusing. Maybe it's a Check vs Mate / Battle CHess type of scenario?

Yep, just checked my library and you're correct. Iron Madness shows up but Battle Cars does not (Even though that's what steam identified the key as) - as you say looks like a dual naming situation.

you can send them an email or try to contact the creator on steam. maybe they'll react to that.

Hmm this gets even stranger - in my library I now have Iron Madness, but not Battle Cars. So looks like it was the correct key after all. Still odd that I've been blacklisted 1 hour after the giveaway ended.

I've heard about people who blacklist winners so more people can have a chance of winning from them.

Some people do that to prevent you from winning another giveaway from them, or because they checked your profile and you didn't meet their criteria.

It is a case when you try activate duplicated key and then you ill activate different game. is sometimes shows like you would activate previous one, but in reality you have activated right. Yuo can even check this by entering a key once again it will tell you you have this game already and what game it was...

But it´s not incorrect: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/uH8tl/cubic-bundle-abstract-cubic-bundle
"Iron Madness previously called Battle Cars"
GA creator blacklisted you because he wants only 1 win per user probably.

Yep, figured it out now - confusing that steam identified the game as battle cars when I entered it, but has entered my library as Iron Madness. And ah right, didn't realise people did that would make sense.

I wonder how many more people will say "Mark as not received" or similar. Then see that the matter is resolved and remove their post.
