I have loved playing gamebooks since I was a kid playing the paper versions. I'm always looking for new ones to try and right now seems to be a resurgence of the format on Steam. I'm hoping to see many more from Tin Man games as well as others. If anybody has some suggestions for gamebooks available elsewhere or maybe something on Steam I might have overlooked, please leave a comment.
Here is a LVL 3+ giveaway for two copies of one of the better ones: http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/UpFf8/an-assassin-in-orlandes

They are like Interactive books. A bit like Visual novels only less visual and more novel with an RPG element to them(usually)

Oh kind of like Telltale games kind of? You don't really do action, its all about the story right?

Somewhat. However, The lone wolf one has battles that you do which are kind of fun that are like the actions in telltale games

An alternative for Android is Lone Wolf Saga which is also based upon the Project Aon versions.

I think they are also referred to as Choose your own Adventure-stories ;)

They are like choose your own adventures but with more elements such as equipment, health, dice rolling etc.

I see :) I think I had one of those when I was younger. It was a collection of 3 stories and one of them was called "The Realm of the Mountain King" or something like that. It was pretty fun. Didn't realize the more complicated ones with inventory and health have a different name ;)

To be or not to be was decent. If you like the 4th wall in games, it gets better.

You can check the website for Project AEON, they have on-line all the Lone Wolf gamebooks (over thirty of them, with the permission of the writer, Joe Dever).

I've read all of them and they are great. I'm so glad Joe Dever gave them permission to do this. The Lone Wolf gamebooks are some of my favorite ones. I use the Seventh Sense reader to play them. Cover up though the MagnaKai series

Game books are awesome. Though shame I no longer have most of the books up to the 40s.

Nice collection! I hope Tin Man continues releasing FF books on Steam. I like how they recreated them for the digital age.

If you like gamebooks you might want to check out Fallen London. If you know Sunless Sea then it's the game that it is based on. (It's a free browser game set in a Victorian fantasy setting that might seem weird at first but once you get used to it it's quite fun.)

Love Fighting Fantasy and Lone Wolf. You should check out Fabled Lands.

Also I backed the digital tabletop version of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain which is in production now by Tin Man Games and will be available on Steam.

Lone Wolf isn't really a gamebook given many other aspects included, so it can be hardly be a part of the poll. Monster Loves You!, not sure as well, I didn't see much of a book part playing it before, it has an interactive element indeed, but it doesn't progress in story unless you make several choices for the same scene - more like ... repetitive Visual Novel, I don't know. People are voting for these two mostly because first is rather well known and looks good overally and the the second - many just got to play it, while the rest has too much text to read and wasn't given a proper fancy. My personal upvote is TBONTB, simply amazing work.

I included Lone wolf because it is based on gamebooks and still retains some of the features(and I love the series and hope for more). Monster loves you is definitely borderline for sure. I think I might have to get TBONTB.

Yeah, you might pick it up during next sale. I don't regret a penny spent on it. By the way, you are free to check/play a short but hilarious fragment (optional sidequest, so basically no spoilers) of the game here.

Of all the poll options I only played Appointment With F.E.A.R. There's a long way for me to go, haahahaha.

Loved them in book form when I was growing up and have gifted my collection to my niece that also likes them.

Never actually tried them in a game although I have a couple installed on my tablet. Someday maybe :)

If you haven't played 80 Days yet, I highly recommend it: http://store.steampowered.com/app/381780/

I agree. A damn good "Choose Your Own Adventure". Thread creator might consider including it in the poll. For some reason, Sorcery which was released on Steam (by same dev) is present in there, while earlier released 80 Days isn't.
