Bethesda releases a game every 4/5 years, how is that money hoarding? Explain please.

How about this: they started the "release game half-finished because the community fixes it" with the Morrowind expansion.
They were the ones who jumped on the "make customisation patches payed" with one of the worst-rated DLC in history, Horse Armour.
They were the ones who doubled the price of the Fallout franchise when they got their mitts on it.
They are the ones, THE ONLY ONES who jumped on the paid mods bandwagon, making money out of others' work without lifting a finger.
Did I mention they also stream their own Skyrim and get the money from it using mods the community created without paying a cent?

By the way: Bethesda releases plenty of games. They make one game every 4-5 years.
Except when they outsource a game to another studio, then they suddenly demand a full game made from scratch in 18 months, including the marketing period. Then when the game is out they cheat the devs out of the contract money. Name one publisher who ties contract money to a Metacritic score. Just one. I can name only one, Bethesda.

I don't know for sure; I'd have to eliminate Square, Valve, and Activision from the list, because although they might do cash grabs (especially Activision) they don't do anything extraordinarily stupid. The others, I'm not sure about 2K (I don't really follow them) but the other three have all done something to pretty badly aggravate me in the last year or two (RIP Metal Gear) and then there's WB, who managed to both completely ruin a Batman game and yet release an amazing Mad Max game (which, honestly, I didn't even realize was WB until I booted it and then worried until, to my surprise, it ran really well).

Capcom is missing, and Bethesda is always doing its cash grab thing though that's not quite as bad...

If you mean "making money of someone else's work without lifting a finger" is not quite as bad, then yes. Bethesda is not quite as bad.

Valve does the same thing with trading cards. It's not that cut and dry. However, Bethesda is more in my books because of ruining the Elder Scrolls, which became bland generic fantasy tripe after Morrowind (or, depending on if you count DLC, the Shivering Isles). The modding controversy means nothing to me because quite frankly I don't care about Elder Scrolls games anymore because there's no appeal to me, and paying modders for their contributions to the community isn't a terrible idea; Bethesda (and Valve) just had horrible implementation. Look at Tripwire and Rising Storm for a good example of mods becoming paid.

They ruined Fallout too, although TES is worse in the regard that it was their own franchise and they couldn't even keep their own damn lore between two games, let alone five… :-/
Valve is… I don't know what to think of them. It's like they are deliberately trying to ruin themselves. They really think they are the Google of the video game industry with experimenting at all the things, only without the actual knowledge. Or innovation.
Well, at least they are not stealing others' work…

I don't think they quite ruined Fallout; I think they missed a lot of what made the originals (1, 2, and to a lesser extent Tactics) great and recaptured something almost but not quite the same. Now, I prefer the writing and style of the originals, but I think 3 and NV are definitely playable, if often glitchy because Bethesda please use a new engine you don't know how to use this engine Bethesda stop. Though I do agree that the inability to be consistent with lore and style between games damages Bethesda's cred greatly, and I miss my zany wasteland adventures instead of mimetic imitations passing for jokes.

WB only published Mad Max, while Avalanche Studios actually developed it.
WB also only published Arkham Knight, with Rocksteady Studios developing it.

Soooooo WB actually had little to do with how bad Batman was or how good Mad Max was.

That's the theory. In practice, however...

The publisher actually has a lot to do with the content of a developer's game. This is most obvious with in house studios (see EA and everything they've ruined) and there are some exceptions (the Monster Hunter team, for example, straight up defies Capcom's orders sometimes, because they have the clout to do it) but the publisher does determine some very important factors; the first of these is obviously the release date, because how long you have to work on something definitely limits the quality. The second factor is budget; while some studios raise their own money and self publish, a third party publisher only wants to invest so much before the game you're producing becomes more of a risk than a reward. Another factor, though also critically important, is that a publisher can set your priorities. In the case of AK, it clearly reflected a lack of prioritization on the PC build, whereas their other titles have had fairly decent PC releases. So yes, the publisher is largely responsible for the quality of the games that they publish, even if the developers actually make the content.

Yeah I know it's still there
But you know... There'll be no more things like that
Well if Hideo make his own company it'll be different I guess

Ugh, probably a tie between Ubisoft and EA. But if I had to choose only one then I'd say Ubisoft at the present time, simply because their client is so inexcusably horrid compared to the others, on top of all the other reasons.

A couple of years ago, you had to finish the game in order to unlock other nations, now you have to buy the 5-7euro "culture packs". A couple of years ago, blood was a setting, now is a 2.5euro DLC. They didn't improve the damn AI at all in 10 years. TW Arena is not p2w, except that if you use consumables, you lose more money than you win in a high tier average battle. I am sick of their bullshit.

PS: I don't really buy games from EA and Ubisoft, so I don't really have much experience with / care about them.

I forgot about them. They're truly being rather attrocious lately, especially with DLC, broken launches, and "sequels" that would be better off as an expansion for a smaller price (I'm looking at you, Attila).

Nintendon't
Screwing youtubers/fans out of money for uploading vids of games they love buying and playing when nearly all the other companies have realized that that's good advertising for their games.
Oh, and hitting them with strikes/takedown notices etc for really old vids too.

If I have to choose one among the others, it's Ubisoft. They launch their games really buggy like 99% of the time. EA has some issues, but they are improving at least. Nintendo shoud be on this list.....

A few years ago I'd say EA, but now.... they kind of got better. On the other hand, Ubisoft has a lot of PR trouble, especially in the PC gaming section, so my vote goes to them.

You forgot Capcom, the pioneers in disk-locked content and the masters of releasing the same game over and over again without actual improvements, yet expecting the same amount of money. Not to mention that every RE: Revelations seems to have an RE5, RE6, and O:RC to make sure not even one franchise has consistent quality.

money and the greed is evil not the companies. Sooner we realize they are in it for business not the love of the community the better. Every one of those have done something we can criticize but everyone of them have given us good games too. at this point most of hate has become circlejerk. fuck konami , half done Ubisoft games , valve support plus team platform not a gaming company anymore etc etc
I read your name after answering the question. why do you create so many shiposts?

Paradox Interactive for messing up the greatest game of all times (see War of the Vikings forums) and completely refusing to listen to the community.

They probably have a steamweekend right now because their loyal customers left them and they need new ones.
